Default NEWBIE to nitrous..i know you hate n00bs but help me out please!

Sup guys? I don't read the forced induction forum much at all but I just got a great deal on a ZEX 55-75 dry kit! I've got a stock B16 and I was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers! What to get to help it from detonating and what not and all that good stuff that I know nothing about! What will my stock b16 hold anyways? I know 55 is the safest...what should i do? bigger fuel pump? plugs? retard timing at all? Help me out! I searched and didn't really find good answers...thanks in advanced! what times am i looking at by the way?

get an intake and exhaust to open it up a lil. Get a new clutch. You can run 55 fine without any timing or fuel modifications, aside from running 92+ octane.

get colder plugs and if you like a fpr and larger fuel pump...wet systems usually work the best, but zex kits work pretty nice for the bang for the buck...

just dont go nitrous crazy, part of those crazy b-troop guys ey?

sell the zex kit and get a NOS, or NX kit. Check your plugs religiously!! always keep a spark plug wrench in the car and an extra set of plugs. Run autolite plugs.

I've got an AEM CAI and a TRUST Catback exhaust but I'm still looking for a header..but anyways yeah i'm not selling the kit I've heard nothing but good about this zex kit, so new plugs and 92+ octane with the 55 shot will be perfectly fine?

Yeah just dont miss any shifts. I have seen pistons look pretty bad after missing shifts with N20....

Ummm. Autolites? Why?

Also, why ditch the ZEX kit? It's considered one of the most sophisticated, although less configurable because of the engine protection built in.

"It's considered one of the most sophisticated"

Doesn't mean it's the best.. KISS method is the best method.

because of the engine protection built in.
The best engine protection is not installing it at all.

NOS Nitrous kit desigened for your car
NGK plugs one or two steps colder
Retard your timing a degree or two
Run only 91/92 octane gas
no squeezing under 750psi or over 1200psi bottle pressure
get a new clutch (mine lasted 3 months)
if you squeeze in first.. just dont miss the shift.
dont miss ANY shifts

good luck
