Default new tial wastegate plumbing..

guys i got my tial wastegate plumbed in like below however the nipple that is venting to atmosphere is leaking vacuum, guessing thats not right lol can someone confirm the correct way to connect it up?

theres 5 nipples, the lower 3 are blanked off, so theres just one on the side (which i routed to the inlet manifold vac source) and the one on the top which is venting to atmo.

thanks - dan

backwards

leave top 2 open
put the pressure source to one of the bottom ports, plug the other two

.7 psi spring.. erm not sure on vac @ idle will have to check. (its an AFI turbo kit, so this spring is what they sent with the kit)

if it's post bov it doesn't matter if it's open
if it's pre bov it needs to be shut

so you are good to go with it beign after the BOV

guys, was just thinking, is it not abit dodgy to have the bov open on idle, as its drawing in un-filtered air.. ??

it's venting air out, not sucking it in

Exactly, for being a company that is some poor *** attitude TiAl. You need to learn how to read; turbodailydan said its drawing in unfiltered air at idle, Tial's response is it is venting air out at idle, so good one. I don't think you know what you are talking about, it can happen both ways, loose customers much?

We all know a "Blow Off Valve" releases excess pressure. When there is a vacuum present I guess you could have the crack-head theory that it is still "venting off" negative pressure. Wow, what a different spectrum, BOVs are BOVs all the time they "vent off Positive as well as Negative pressure".

I am now a crack-head.

Mine blows air out at idle. Some setups do suck in though, depends on how large of an opening the valve has and if the turbo spins at idle.

LOL

ok so, is there any potential issues with the piston being open on idle..?

with having a bov spring this soft, is the bov going to be venting off on the slightest bit of boost? i dont want it ''woooshin'' like ALL the time

AMEN Brother. Typically though, the BOV is sucking in air at idle rather than blowing it out on a lot of your average turbo setups.
