New Tial Q surging a little.
First drive on new TialQ bov, I ordered it with the -12 psi spring. Currently only 7psi of boost, I get compressor surge a little if I'm not hitting full boost. Seems like the bov opens and closes very quickly. I get the initial release of air out the bov then sounds like it closes and I can hear the comp' surging for a couple seconds. My old greddy typer-rs seemed to flutter and let out the rest of the air, it was a pos though, maybe the Tial is working as intended lol.
Mostly just want to make sure I got the right bov spring. My MAP sensor read 22.4 "/psi in hondata at op' temp idle, that is what I gave to the vendor, and assume I got a -12 psi spring. That's the right one correct?

line size going to the bov? are the washers installed properly? is it T'd into anything?

6mm ID vac line per instructions, washers are on right but I will double check. Not T'd, vac goes straight into intake mani'. I have the correct spring, right?

you said 22 psi.....did you mean in/hg?

I took the reading from my hondata while datalogging, from the default "MAP" value. It uses psi by default no? That is basically what I am trying to figure out, if I got the reading right and ultimately the right spring.

well i don't think you are pulling -44in/hg, but i'm not sure how it reads
is the bov closed at idle?

My autometer boost gauge read -19psi at the same time I took the hondata MAP reading of -22.4psi. If that helps.
I'll have to check if it is closed at idle later, I did not check that yet.
Thx for the help.

Alright, so sounds like there is a good chance I may have the wrong spring. I'll try to confirm my vacuum values tonight and then get the right spring.

Right on, good to know.
Well I looked up my autometer gauge:
http://www.autometer.com/cat_g...id=12
Vacuum is measured in in/hg like you said. I am pretty certain the MAP value in hondata is read in the same measurement, since it was just a little different. (in/hg in vacuum, psi in boost, I spaced that fact until just now).
MAP sensor: -22.4in/hg
Boost gauge: -19in/hg
So, which value should I go off of? hehe.
The MAP sensor is of course on top of the tbody, boost gauge gets it's reading from opposite side of intake mani via it's own (not T'd) vacuum line. I would guess the boost gauge is losing some accuracy going through the vac' lines and hondata is more accurate. Each value leads to a different spring though...I have the -12psi bov spring, I'll have to open the bov to confim but 22.4 is what I sent my vendor for the spring.

So long as your MAP sensor is calibrated properly on your EMS I'd go off of that. My autometer gauge is a little off from my Neptune datalog.

My hondata is setup to use the hondata 4 bar MAP sensor, which is what I have, if that's what you mean. Going by that value (-22.4in/hg vacuum) then I have the right bov spring, unless my altitude changes anything at all (5200ft elevation too).
