Default new stuff on but boost will not stop climbing. 16psi*updated*

Well i got my new stuff on, But i do have a major problem. I think my Profec is hooked up wrong to the wastegate or not working at all. I mash the gas and boost just climbs. High boost bamn 16psi on the gauge i pretty much **** my pants. Then i turned it to low boost and bam 16psi. After messing the the gain and balance some i went ahead and turned the profec off, Thinking it will just run off the 6 pound spring. I mash the gas and bam 16psi at about 7000rpm and it was still wanting to climb. What could be wrong? I do have the 5.8psi spring in the wastegate.

here is the black box OUTLET circled

Now the outlet goes to the back side of the wastegate

then the vacuum hose from the top part of the wastgate goes into a "T" from the BOV to the vacuum block

here is the main picture color coded to where things are going

Thanks intec for fixing my mistakes on my setup.

Any thoughts? comments?

first off. get the stepper motor as close to the wastegate as you can. the shorter the lines the faster it will react to control boost.

ok so try and move the black box over to the right of the bay and shorten up the vacuum? i will work on that tomorrow? even tho i turned the profec off it should have only boosted 5.8psi correct?

you have it hooked up wrong
the side of hte wastegate is hooked upo to a vaccum port from the intake manifold or the turbo compressor

then the top is hooke dup to your ebc

so basicly switch the two hose around on the wastegate and you be set

that could cause some serious damage follow komat's advice.

yea, you have it hooked up backwards, hence the creep you are experiencing. vacuum is hooked up to side port, EBC to top.

it's probably your manifold design..I got the neukin manifold and it does the same thing..and I got a 3psi spring in it and it climbs to 11psi..sometimes 20psi good thing I got boost cut...

Low boost on larger volume exhaust manifolds makes it especially difficult to control the boost pressure, especially with a small wastegate. Air flow from high to low pressure zones. Well with your large volume exhaust manifold at low boost, the exhaust manifold has an extremely low pressure. It should be very similiar to the pressure in the intake manifold. This means the air won't flow as easily out the WG because the pressure difference isn't dramatic and also the direction of the air naturally won't want to exit the WG. The answer to this is run a larger WG or two of them. That or get a smaller volume exhaust manifold. Ramhorn manifolds are often too large/long for low boost pressure and you can make significant midrange gains using something with a smaller volume.

EDIT: Sorry, I only skimmed the last post and first post briefly. The above response is in regards to the poster above me's post.

I'd unhook the EBC and see if the boost pressure is okay that way. If it is, then you know its the EBC/solenoid/that dealy. Start simple and build from there.

dont think that is it , fix the ebc first , also tap off the brake booster line b4 the check valve nice solid source for a boost/vac line

I've had a couple Neukin manifolds boost creep REALLY bad on the dyno, but i don't think that is the problem here.

Bypass the boost controller, hook the side port (bottom) directly to manifold pressure and leave the top port open and see what it does. I didn't read the whole thing, if this has already been said, sorry.

what size vacuum line are you running?

what size port off the Intake manifold are you hooking it up to?

I had a big block h22a here locally that was creeping, it was due to having 4ft of vacuum line going to the lower port on the tial, we upgrade the line to 7/16 and ran it off a bigger port off the intake manifold and it now holds perfect boost.

also, i've noticed that if i have an overly rich tune, i can have creep issues as well.
