New Jersey: Whats the deal w/ turbos and legality?
Is it at all posible to have a turboed car pass inspection in New Jersey? Are the main two problems that you have to pass the smog test and not blow raw exhaust into the air? If so, would turning down the boost and running a cat fix the smog problem, and would a exhasust system where the wastegate is dumped back into the downpipe before the cat (ex: Arturbo's downpipe) fix the other problem?
If I have this all wrong, can someone please explain to me if/how turbos are illegal, and what we can do to fix it and pass.
Thanks.
Matt

"bov back into the intake tube" is there a way to tempararily do this to pass inspection?
Also, I know there are is a permadent to do this (the downpipe w/ an dump tube) but is there a temp way to do this?

umm honestly i wouldnt bother trying to make your turbo pass inspection.. You will be much happier without a cat... With all things considered u want the least exhaust system possible, the cat will cause unwanted backpressure causeing heat and slower turbo spool.. both are bad things.. And even if your turbo were to pass the exhuast inspection part whos to say they wont notice a turbo kit and have a fit and not pass u.. Save an extra 50 bucks and find out where u can get it "inspected" and u will be much happier..

go around and talk to poeple, do u ever go to the street races? there will always be people there, maybe there is someone on here that knows of a place.. if all else fails get an inspection right before u go turbo and i garuntee by the end of the year of having turbo u will know plenty of people that could tell u where to go..
oh yeh take that damn picture off of here! if that is u, good luck finding somebody to help u! hehe jk
