Default New to boost, have a few questions for HMT kit.

Ok the car is a 91 civic si, stock d16a6 motor. My budget is 1000 dollars, but im trying to do it for around 700-750 so I can have money for a new clutch. I want to run between 6-8 psi, and hoping for atleast 160-170 hp at the crank. So far my plans are 1st gen dsm bov, 14b dsm turbo, hf manifold and adapterplate, fmu for fuel, stock injectors, 2.5 intercooler piping.

So now for my questions, what downpipes will fit a 14b turbo? Im trying to find one thats already made for a 4th gen with a 14b and set up for a single o2 sensor, will other downpipes fit a 14b? Like t3/t4 or anything else? Or would it just be easier to buy a decent downpipe and just weld on a new flange if needed?

Ebay front mounts, are they trash? Im sure you know the ones im talking about, they go for about 125-150, bar and plate style. What about a DSM side mount, would I be able to mount it in the front? With the way the charge tubes are set up it looks like it would be a nice match going up to the turbo and then around back up to the TB, but i'm probably wrong.

Intercooler Piping - I was thinking of getting a cheap CAI, and using that for some piping, and cutting it in half and use couplings to mount the bov, and then just get some stainless steel piping and a few 90s for the rest. Would that be a good idea, or would I be best off using all stainless steal? Remember i'm going for function and staying within my budget. I was also thinking of buying the dsm charge piping that comes stock on dsms and cutting it to fit, since they are 2.5. Is 2.5 too big? Will I experience a lot of lag?

Fuel - I was planning on using blue tops until I was told I wont be able to idle them, and that stock injectors will be good for low boost. So now Im sticking with the stock injectors, and thinking of either a adj. regulator, or a FMU, what are the benefits of each? Will the regulator cause me to run rich when im out of boost?

Tuning - how important would this be with running low boost? The car will be daily driven and I'd like it to drive and idle like stock. Shoot me some ideas on this because this is my major weak part lately.

Thanks for looking guys. Any links or info you shoot me are greatly appreciated.

For turbo projects. You can definitely do it for around $1000. But don't skimp on engine management. Since you have a 91 your ecu is chippable, and can handle turboedit, and that will let you run the DSM 450s just fine. Also expect more like 160-170 at the wheels, not at the crank.
