Need Turbo help, have a few questions
Alright I am going to be building a home made turbo kit and was wondering if this turbo is "too big" my neighbor bought it and its still in the box, but his gsr was totally and messed up the motor.
Also what would be the spool time on this? (a guesstimate)
Stone Mountain Racing is the maker
T3.T4 ( To4e )
Stage III
57 T compressor wheel
.50 A/R compressor
.63 A/R turbine

Which motor are you running? It is going to be a tad bit laggy due to the .63 a/r on the exhaust housing.

I am assuming the motor is completely stock? No headwork?
I would guesstimate spooltime around the 3500-4000rpm range...

Ya I am gonna have a 84 mm pistons, benson sleeves, full-race rods, skunk2 valvetrain and MAYBE a port and polish...For drag racing is that a good or bad thing? I eventually am going to have the thing running 23-24 psi....I understand turbo charging systems I just really dont understand the a/r's affect on spool time

Make sure you have your combustion chamber worked to mate up with the 84mm bore of the cylinder.
I would say boost should kick in with head work around the 3000-3500 range. The turbo should do nicely for that set-up... A 60 wheel trim on the compressor wouldnt hurt though with that much boost.
