Need tips/pics of drilling into the oil pan!
Hey guys, like the title says I need some help on where to drill in the oil pan on my b16a2. I'm going to be purchasing a Greddy kit soon so I just want to figure everything out before I start the install. Pics would be very helpful! Thanks in advance.

I just used a uni-bit, took me all of 30 seconds, then ran a tap through, but you don't have to do that with the greddy kit.

Your right to ask! This needs to be right and i think it is where a lot of people get it wrong. I got mine wrong and the car smoked like hell it looked right just was a little too low.
Like people said before put the turbo on, loosly put down pipe on and see where is the best place to drill so that the return pipe is short, has few bends and does not level off.
You need to get it as high as you can in the pan and then once you have filled the engine with oil run it for a bit then turn it off and leave it for 5 mins, pull the pipe off. if any amount of oil more than a few drips comes out its wrong and needs to be higher.
Mine is as high as it can be. The pipe touches the flange of the sump and was then welded inside and out (as you could not get at the top from the out side).

I would def suggest getting the kit on first and then seeing where the best place to drill is. I have seen so many times people pre welding their oil pansonly to have the nipple be behind the down pipe, or the hose kinking up because of the sharp bend it has to make to connect. I had a spare block, so I put it all on an engine stand and figured out where to weld it.

The whole point of this forum is to help people out...why do things twice when someone has already been through it and can help you. And I got advice and we STILL had to do mine twice whatever it says in that manual just listen to that there is no trick to it really. We thought we had a better way to do it then we put the pan on and the ledge part where the braces for the tranny go got in the way. So listen to what the manual says and put it there.

Why are you guys jumping on "91civicDXdude" ? Havent you guys ever heard of test fitting things to make sure they will fit? I see nothing wrong with what he said. It doesn't take long to tap the oil pan and weld a bung/flange thinger on it. If you want to know where to drill the hole them put it all together and get a pen to mark where to drill the hole.
