Default need tips on launching at track tomorrow... burnt clutch, 8-10psi, street tires, etc

single cam turbocharged running 8-10psi at the track. going to deflate tires to 25psi. they are currently at 35psi, and when i launch at 2k i still peel out a lot... after it grabs it has to still deal with turbo lag so i have a crappy hole shot. should i just dump the clutch at 3.5k and deal with the traction problems? need some tips... the car launches different then when it was all-motor. i'm also worried about doing the burnout with my car... im afraid i might kill my clutch even more.

On street tires if you dump the clutch you will get crappy times. You need to ride the clutch out, but if you clutch is already worn out maybe you should not race, you dont want your clutch to give out and have to tow your car back. Get a new clutch...and slicks. Good luck.

isnt riding the clutch bad in general? maybe my friend rode his too long or at the wrong spot, but his clutch has been slipping ever since he tried to ride it at the track.

If you can slip it a little, roll then hit it. If you feel yourself spinning tyres, just feather the throttle a little until it bites. Then your home free. But if your getting traction probs you should check other things first like susp. tyre pressure and boost, try a 2 stage.

do not lower tyre pressure on street radials and do not burn them out.

wait wait... your saying i shouldnt lower my tire pressure OR burn out? why do the hundreds of other racers at the track do so then? they are all street tires... track requires DOT approved tires.

I drop the stock 14" bridgestones to like 16 psi and do a quick burnout to clean them off. My 60's are 2.0-2.1's, so that seems to work for me.
