Default Need some advice for the off season.

I have been debating what to do to my car this winter, and have narrowed it down to a few things, but cant seem to decide. The car currently makes 380 whp on pump gas, and stock sleeves. Here is what I had, and what i will be doing. What I am looking for is feedback from the new mods I am thinking of. Advice from the people who have traveled this path is wanted please.

Had:
Hondata and 550 cc's
LS trans, open diff
23" slicks
H&R race springs/Tokico's

New:
Neptune and 750's
LS trans w/ 4.4 FD and LSD
23" slicks, maybe bigger, need input
Ground controls?

Those are for sure, but would anyone recomend a sleeved block over the things listed? Maybe coilovers? Trapping at 122, i know i can go faster, maybe with B16 3rd and 4th gears, i dont know. I guess I'm looking to go faster with the HP i have, not really looking to make more. Poor college kid now, so the funds are limited. Thanks

Some more info would be nice to help out. What are your goal specifiacally? What is your budget? What chassis is this? What are some of your incremental times from your best 1/4 mile runs? From that you can tell if there is more in the car, you might need some more seat time for all you know.

The first goal is to go as fast as possible with the hp i have. It would be nice to sleeve it, and make more, but i will be breaking the threshhold for traction that i have on the street. It is mainly a street car, but getting good numbers out of it is a goal. I will come up with my time slips as soon as i can. Its a 6th gen coupe btw. I really need to put the power down on the street, so i have been thinking about running Hoosiers on the front, since i only drive it when its dry. So 1st goal, go as fast as i can with current hp. 2nd goal, put the power down on the street, becuase my best pass of 11.84 was on 23" slicks. 3rd, make it a car that can put down the best 1/4 numbers with the HP i have. I will get some more info when I get home, school all day.

Cool, thanks. As for the tires, has anyone ran the hoosier R3S05 on the streets or have a recomended tire that can fit on a 15" or 16" rim. Just getting ideas.

Here is the break down of my best run:

60'- 1.734
330- 5.152
1/8- 7.785
MPH- 96.15
1000- 9.999
1/4- 11.846
MPH- 122.43

That is running 380 to the wheels, dual stage BC, set at 10 and 16, high boost midway through 2nd, and 23" slicks with a stock LS trans. Do you need any other info?

60' is not terrible by any means, but could be better. Look in your logger to see how much you are making off the line, and what RPM you have your 2 step set at. Your 330' and 660'(1/8) is what need the most improvement. When you can get traction and get the boost on quicker to lower those times and increase the speed, the top end is going to just be that much greater as well (traction permitting). You have an LS transimission, so that has somewhere around a 3.26-3.30 first gear. You might want to look at getting some 24.5 slicks. Those slicks with that first gear might just pull you out of the 60' a little quicker. Maybe set that 16 PSI to come on sooner then half way through second gear. By that time you are past he 330' mark.

Just a few things to look at.

I didnt even have a two step with that run, or for the whole season for that matter. Will the 4.4 final help instead of doing the gears? I was going to do the B16 3rd and 4th, but I have the FD, so thought it would help. Will I be gaining MPH, or just using the speed I have now more resourcefully?

Well I would get something like an MSD box to allow you to have that 2 step off the line first of all. When it comes to the transmission, it is not the worst thing in the world to have an LS. Depending on how much money you have to play with, youmay may opt just to buy a GSR or B16 transmission all together just to have it. Unless you feel comfortable cracking open the trans and doing the gears yourself. Hell maybe just learn to full throttle shift, if you are trying to get the most out of the car without spending too much this off season. Look at your logger to see how long your shifts are. If they are longer then 4/10 of a second there is a little more room for improvement there also.
