Need opinions on my turbo specs
My turbo: T3/T4e .48a/r turbine 60trim
My engine: h23a w/fully built bottom end runing custom Ross pistons 9.5:1 C/R
w/h22a eagle rods
My goal: 300-350 whp - daily driver
Fuel setup: Hondata 2b or with as much tuning as necessary
My concern is that the turbine is to small. Based on my calculations w/compressor maps, I can run 17psi with about 70% efficiency..But is 17psi too high for a .48a/r turbine? Or is this something that can't be answered until I get everything installed and run tests on the temperatures? I can't afford to just ditch the .48a/r turbine so I need to make it work somehow..What do you guys think? Can I achieve this or am I reaching for the stars?

Re: Need opinions on my turbo specs (symba)
It'll be nice for a daily driver, the smaller housing will spool up quick, especially on a 2.3L. However it'll prolly get hot/ineffecient if you start running higher amounts of boost. But for 10~12 psi daily driven it would prolly work great.

Re: Need opinions on my turbo specs (symba)
The worst thing it can do is heat up the intake charge and you'll start to lose power. Once the turbo is out of it's effecientcy range, it'll start producing more and more heat, reducing the amount of power you're making. At a some point it just won't be able to flow any to give you any more power either.
I'd say tst it out and see how you like it. At lower and mid level boost you ought to be happy.

Turbine is waaayy to small for a big *** H series motor. You want a .63
60 trim is nice on the compressor side though.

i would have to agree, anything in the 2000cc to 2500cc range, i would also suggest a .63a/r turbine. the .63 a/r turbine will spool just fine on that motor.
we actually sell them on our site for a pretty good deal
hope this helps.
hahaha by the way, that mastercard commercial is hilarious.

Agreed. I have the 60 trim on my h22 and I love it(much better than 57). .63 a/r is really what you should be at.

Re: Need opinions on my turbo specs (apexii)
what psi are you running and at what rpm do you begin spooling and what rpm do you reach maximum boost?
