Need opinions for best burn out method
Sup guys, well I will finally be hitting the track this Friday with VTC_civic to see what my biatch can do down the track, unfortuneately no slicks but I got drag radials at least. Questions is I usually just did a quick burnout to get rid of any pebbles, gravel etc that's on there but would really like to heat em up but never get the hang of it? Any method or procedure you guys can share that will work best since I rarely visit the track. TIA,
Nick

the way i do a burnout in the race car is like this .... have someone stage you little pass the waterpit roll through get your tires wet. then about ft past the water hold your ebrake shift into second gear and rev to around 7500-8000 rpm jjust turn the wheel left and right when you feel the car going foward release ebrake.

the reason you turn it left and right is to get the slicks warmed up evenly. But its really how you drive too. Most times there not enough time to warm them since they grab so quick. You dont want to be stuck there burning out forever either as soon as the car grabs traction realease the ebrake or what ever staging brake you have.

if you have the early bfg drag radials or the nitto's, don't heat em up too much. if you have the new g-force bfg's, then heat em up more. and be careful turning your wheel doing the burnout, because i've seen some inexperienced people almost hit the wall doing hit. lol. you should be looking for consistent 2.00 60 ft's realistically.
oh yea, definatly do the 2nd gear burnout.

I thought you weren't supposed to run through the water if you have regular tires on....Is that true? I guess we are just talking about DRs and slicks here...

with the nitto's i'd try around 22-24 psi in the tires and launch around 4000 rpm's slipping the clutch. no water and a quick burn out. 1st gears good enough. just for a second. to get the **** off and get em alittle sticky. too much and it'll work against you. just my experience. good luck.

reason i do it in second is less strain on my motor. Remeber i got full race stup an the gear is juts so short its just puts uncessary strain on my motor.
