Default Need new Clutch. Needs to HOLD BIG POWER?? Advice?

Hi I need a clutch for my new motor on the turbosetup. Umm it will see around 450 WHP. I need something that will not only hold, but also last the longest. The biggest clutch ive used was a ACT stage 3 . I loved the performance of it. I really dont care about engagment shock. I just need something to hold the power. Whats the average life of a Clutch like this? It will be raced only about once a week. Besides that its a street car on low low low boost. (6 psi). Thanks

Try a clutchmaster stage5, it's a really good clutch, and it holds mad power. I have a few friends with 400-500whp civics and tegs and they like it alot. Another choice is less streetable, but an OS Gilken clutch will hold 600+hp so will a RPS Carbon claw. If you plan on making more than that, you can try Tilton or call clutchmaster to make you a custom clutch (they do that)

slippin isn't what you need to worry about at those hp levels. have you ever seen what happens when the clutch shatters?

yes i have seen a clutch shadder. Thats why im ordering a scatter shield. = ) but how often does a clutch shadder? Right now i have an ACT Extreme clutch but I think i rather be prepared. So far the clutchmaster looks good. The

Stage 5 is rated at 540 to the sky.
Stage 4 is rated at max 486 WHP.

More then likey the car will see right from 450 WHP - 500 WHP. Which one would you go with??? What is the duration of how long these clutches last?

scattershield doesnt save your motor or tranny tho. the only way to make sure it wont granade is to get something that wont fall apart like that in the first place.

I would go for the CM stage 5. I have this clutch for my 550hp project. Its a great piece.. its not a re-man, its all new stuff.

actually is very afforadable. Think how long a Clutchmasters stg5 will last maybe a full season. The Tilton and osgeiken last almost 2 years + before needing new disc.

That is true I wasnt thinking about future costs wear etc... if you were to add them up you would come out on top with an OS metal or the cheaper Tilton. (Keep in mind this is paying retail for both CM and the dual friction OS or Tilton)
