Re: Need help with this turbo have a couple Qs (mortificationrock)
um...dont post in kills.
Boost Pressure rated in Pounds per Square Inch is adjusted via a wastegate (external or internal).
The oil feed and drain are located on the center section of the turbocharger. Depending on if your turbo is water cooled or not... Watercooled turbos will have 4 holes in the centersection. non-h20 cooled turbos will have two.
The oil holes are on opposites sides of the charger...IE 180 degrees apart. The oil ports will be easy to identity because the feed should be small approx 1/8"NPT and the drain should be a rectangular 1/2"x1/2" port with two bolt holes on either side of the port.
The coolant lines should be a larger 1/2" NPT (or some thread) and located 180 degrees from each other.
go to http://www.turbobygarrett.com and go read google on turbochargers and how they work.
I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND YOU ATTEMPTING TO TURBOCHARGE YOUR CAR AT THIS POINT.
hell i even made a paint diagram for you :-P
