Need help....just bought a JRSC on eBay
Ok I'm not sure if anyone here knows my setup on my EK but I'll re-cap it here.
B18B block
82mm PR3 pistons
Stock rods with ARP bolts
ARP head studs
B16A head with Skunk2 valve springs and retainers
Hytech header, 2.5" exhaust
Skunk2 stage 2 cams with cam gears
440cc injectors
255lph high pressure pump
I saw this JRSC on ebay and I decided to place a bid. I think I'm goin to win this one, what do you guys think? Can I run it on this build? Do you think the compression will be too high or can I get away with it if I run low timing??? I have two options on head gaskets also. I can use the stock LS gasket which is .029 or I can get a Cometic that is .060 in thickness to lower the compression a bit. I'm also using crome for tuning.
Another thing is do I have to change my map sensor if I use this charger? It has the original pulley on it so I think it's 6psi or so.
Any help is greatly appreciated guys!

Re: Need help....just bought a JRSC on eBay (B16A1-EF9)
What is your comp ratio?
Make sure it is a Vtec kit for you aplication with the M62 blower.
The stock map sensor will be fine upto 11psi which is the max you want to run with the kit anyway.
11 to 1 is about as far as I would go with boosting, a little more "tip in" fuel is needed for tuning.

With the stock gasket it should be around 12:1 or 11.8:1. with the cometic thicker gasket i could probably bring it to 11.5:1. i know it's high but the charger has the street pulley on it so it should put out only 5 psi. tuned correctly and left rich it should be ok i would think? what do you think?
it's a b16 kit and i believe he did say it was an M62 blower.
i thought the stock map sensor only reads to 3 psi, at least thats what i see in crome? do i have to re-map the file or something for it to see higher?
i'm also thinking of getting your LHT Intercooler kit eventually. lets see how things go with it first.

Re: (B16A1-EF9)
It should be fine at stock boost with good tuning. I'd recommend a lower CR, but if that's what you got, then that's what you boost. LS motor with 82mm PR3 pistons should net you around 11.5:1. Change the cams, they will lose power with a SC, try a GSR intake and ITR exhaust. OEM MAP sensor reads to 11 PSI.
The problem with high comp and OEM pistons is that you have no room for error. It doesn't take much detonation to break the ring lands off of a set of PR3 pistons, I've done it before, with a JRSC even, but I was being stupid about my fueling.

rmcdaniels....
what a/f would you like to see if tuning this setup? 82mm pr3 with a b16 head on stock ls gasket and JRSC at about 5psi?
