Do you have a vacuum line going to the wastegate?

Sideport for manual boost controller
Topport for elec boost controller

Make sure there is not a check valve in the vacuum line also.

I'm running the Tial knock off too and was having spiking problems. Mine came with the 8.7psi spring. I replaced it with a Tial small red spring .45 bar and my wastegate holds boost perfect now. I notice you did the same as I.. so you should not be having this problem. I would look at vacuum routing...Get vacuum from a good source..like from the power steering booster. Open up the wastegate and make sure everything is tight...also make sure the diaphragm is in good working order. Good luck.
