Need help with buying new turbo
I'm about to get a deal on a turbocharger but the guy selling it tells me it rated at 600hp for his V8 so does this mean its rated less for my 4 cylinder??

If its from a V8 then it will be useless for your 4 banger. It will probably start spool up at 7k rpms.

^^ start there and find a turbo with a compressor map that will stay in the efficiency range of the power goal your shooting for.
Remember, smaller turbo = quicker spool / Larger turbo = later spool so you need to find the right balance.
