Default Need expert help. Loosing oil, I have a few scenarios of where it is going...

Well I am still trying to diagnose where I am loosing oil at. Before you say rings or seals read the rest of this. If you have any help please let me know.

First I noticed (or it seemed that I loose more oil in the winter months) This might just be coincidence but I did notice it.

I have also noticed that I can smell blow by when deaccelerating on the freeway (ie no throttle). As soon as I get back on the throttle the smell goes away. Let back off and most the time you can smell it again.

Late one night last week I was out practing my launches on a deserted street. Noticed that when I used the full throttle launch feature that I could see smoke coming out from under the hood. I am guessing this is coming out of the breather vavle?

I have done a compression and leakdown test. My compression was about 200 across the board. They weere a little off but no more than like 10% of each other. I also did a leakdown test and none of the cyl showed more then 6% leak.

I have switched from 5w-30 to 10w-30 mobile one. Its really bothering me. I might loose 1/8 quart a week. Sometimes I wont need to fill any, sometimes I will need to top it off.

TIA

your for sure burning it? how do you know.

are you sure its not leaking out somewhere

get some dye and add it to your oil. get a black light and look for leaks.

Good compression and a burning smell on decelleration sounds like a turbo seal problem or a valve seal problem. Both when there is a vac on the system pulls oil through the seals. Do you have oil in your charge or intake pipes coming off the turbo?

It must be the valve seals then. This problem was going on before boost.

Thanks for the help guys. Im just gunna say im 99% sure its the valve seal.
