Need Experience Tuner Advice For LS/Vtec Turbo
Ok, I bought a 96 Teg LS/Vtec from a fellow HT member. The engine spec are
B18A Block
LS Rods With ARP Rod Bolts
ITR Pistons + Rings
Ported GSR Cylinder Head
01 Spec ITR Camshafts
ITR Valve Springs
LS Throttle Body
Skunk 2Intake Manifold
P28 ECU Chipped JDMhondaparts
I want to go with a GReddy kit with 7 Psi. However I do not want to go ***** out and kill my Gas Mileage. Would it be best to go with a Stock GSR ECU and a Vafc +Blue Box? Or would it be best to keep the P28 get the Vafc and then deal with the Check engine light. I also do not want to upgrade the Fuel pump to dump tons of gas. Will the upgraded Injectors, Vafc and Chipped ECU be enough fuel control without upgrading the Fuel Pump?
Thanks
David

If you want to do it right, sell the blue box and get hondata. You can have 30+mpg and boost if you get it tuned. The blue box isnt tuned to your specific engine, so your gas mileage is going to suffer. Hondata is the most cost effective way for engine management on the market for a honda.

According to this page you've got 11:1 compression with that setup....you're definately gonna need to keep that boost low, and the tuning will need to be pretty close at all times........it will make killer power though.

Thanks for the information, now the next major question is how hard is it to find a knowledgable Hondata tuner on the east coast? Or is this something that any Dyno tuner should understand how to operate?

You have vapor trail on this board in florida. I believe he is in tampa. He is probably one of the best/most experience with hondata tuning in the country. PM him, i am sure he can help you out.

OK, I found the hondata site and read the information. Man I heard some of you talk about this like it's gold! Now I know why, you can't beat that for average Joe. My nearest tuner is in Tampa and that's not far to drive for this, I guess I will not be using the Blue Box but I will still need the Vafc and a boost controller. Thanks for the help.
I just PMed VaporTrail. I think this is the same guy that use to work at Spec R. If so they have a good rep.
