Default My TurboD16 Project - United Kingdom

Hey, Gunna post some pics of my car and also ive almost got all the pieces for my turbo build!!

This is how it all started, completely standard. This is the earliest pic i can find, it didnt have them wheels on!

Then it went through a series of changes, swappin and changin' things, until it now stands like this...

And then i get it into my head that it needs to be boosted! So i started researchin and then i started ordering! Im not gunna post everything i have unless someone requests, but all is im waiting for really is the oil feed and return kit.

T3 Turbo

RC 440cc Injectors

ARP Head Studs

OBX Cam Gear

Oil Catch Can

Wastegate

Wastegate Dump Tube

3" SS Downpipe

Cast Log Manifold

Crower Stage 2 Camshaft, springs and retainers

Intercooler

Blow off valve (BOV)

Will be updating soon with videos!! If (fingers crossed) it all goes to plan!!

Got a couple of gauges in there now

Not really feeling the styling but the turbo compents look very good indeed.

Fair play for upgrading the camshaft, springs & retainers

Keep us updated.

My emissions were fine.

Get a P28 with Crome or Hondata and you will be fine. Remember it is only done at idle.

I'm from Bristol UK too, about to start my turbo install on my ITR soon. Basics are a Darton sleeved built B18C6 bottom end, and a T3/T04E 56t .63 turbo.

I'll be starting a new thread soon with all the details

This Drag turbo manifold will have boostcreep issues (notice that it only relieves one runner of exhaust gases, the other three are free to still flow to the turbo) if you decide to upgrade. With your current t3 setup I don't think you will have any issue.. BUT keep this in mind.

do you plan to have a/c with your setup. I have been considering this manifold but I would like to see how it fits with a/c.

Im running 23 psi on this manifold through a Holset h1c and dont have ANY creep issues at all all the way to 8400 rpm.

Datalogging showed extremely steady boost after full boost was reached.

This is just my experience, not trying to be an ***.

What catch can system are you running? please give details
Theres so many options i dont know which to choose.
I think im gunna gut the PCV valve and run that to the tank and then from the tank to the pre turbo pipe for a bit of suction. Then just put a breather on the valve cover.

Also are you running 11psi on stock pistons and rods?
Are you using a stock map sensor? cheers

that or a log

and just so you know
boost creep- the waste gate (WG) relieves un needed pressure to maintain a certain boost pressure (psi). if the WG can't release the needed pressure to hold steady psi at X than you will have boost creep. basically pressure is still building on the hot side of the turbo thus creating additional boost. so you might have a 10psi spring in you WG but creep to 12 or 13 psi. with that manifold design it's more likely to have boost creep issues because it's only relieving pressure off one runner/cylinder not all 4. so the other 3 will still produce "pressure".

hope you understand i tried to simplify

as for your build... it should be **** once it's done

I'll also be using the same manifold. How do you guys keep a/c with this thing? Do you guys have a downpipe already made?

RIGHT! because your setup is the only setup running this manifold.

FYI,
My friend had this manifold on a mildly built B16 running running a 57trim .63 a/r @14lbs and it would boost creep to over 17lbs. I also had this manifold and got rid of it, boostcreep does occur with this manifold.

Im not saying this manifold will not boost creep.

But mine is totally steady at 23 psi on a d16.
