Default my turbo sohc vitara setup with timeslip!

ok guys, i dont post on here very often, but im pretty happy with what my turd did this weekend! so here goes the modlist:

-1995 honda civic dx coupe (full weight)
-d16z6 shortblock w/ eagle rods and vitara pistons
-arp headstuds
-stock z6 ports
-comp 59300 cam w/aem gear
-supertech valvesprings (thanks wil!)
-skunk2 IM w/stock tb
-aem fuel rail
-y8 trans w/obx lsd
-es m
-stock axles
-1800lbs pressure plate w/6 puck unsprung disk
-es mount inserts
-garrett t3t04e 57 trim .60/.63
-spa top mount cast manifold
-tial 38mm wg and 50mm bov
-stealthmode oil line kit
-3" dp (by me)
-2.5" ic piping (by me)
-31x12x3" fmic (ebay)
-rc 650cc saturated injectors
-gm 3 bar map
-turbosmart mbc

On the track its got 22x9x13" m&h slicks on lenso vpd wheels...

took her to the track yesterday and made a few passes, at 23 psi here was the slip:

1.82
5.01
7.47@100
11.36@127

went back and bumped the boost to 26 (didnt touch timing, it was at 3* since its never been tuned on the racegas) and hit this:

1.87
5.104
7.500@102
11.32@130

i was pretty stoked! had the 330 hooked better i would have seen my 10 second pass! but ill have to travel some this winter and try to get that 10 second slip (after i put in the cage of course)...

for those of you that always want this kind of info, on this best pass the car was at 26psi, with 10 psi in the slicks, track temps were 42*, im not sure on elevation but ill check, i think its 600ft, car was running 11.4-11.6 afr's and 3* of total timing at 26psi, launching manually (no 2 step) and shifting at 9100... car weighs 2520 with me in it...

the last pass i tried to bump the timing up to 6* but missed 2nd and didnt make anymore passes...

all i have to say is, im going for that vitara record in whp and et! i know i could have trapped almost 140 had the car been dyno tuned, and maybe a bit of weight reduction! it has SO much more left in it!!!

im also looking for opinions on what to do for next year, so any of you drag guys any help would be AWESOME... if i didnt mention something, assume its stock! and give me a few pointers!!!

plans for next season are the following (with a 9.9 pass in mind):
-portwork
-zc 3-4 gears
-24.5" slicks
-cage
-new balljoints
-traction bar
-arp extended wheel studs (for peace of mind)
-most likely 30 psi and a good racefuel tune...

i really dont want to sleeve and go forged, the vitaras have gotten me this far, id like to see 9's with them, or at least low 10's... what kind of power does it usually take to go 9's? i was thinking 500whp with good gearing and traction?

thanks guys!

the difference between 10's and 9's is huge Its not like the difference between an 11 and a 10.. But you could just go straight to 9's like everyone else.

You're gonna need more than a 57 trim to run a 9.99, it's a massive step from where you are to that point.

I was at 600 whp, 2300 lbs.

You can def crack a 10 no problem though. Keep in mind if you want to run 9's, you need a 10 point certified cage and a lisence.

Good times though!!

Oh def

You can run 10's all day with that 130 trap, like you said already the 24.5's will help you out wonders. That is my only real advice as far as a setup change, I was flat foot shifting which helped me drag the times down significantly. I tore .4 off my ET just by small driving and setup changes. So the better tire, and learning the car will be great for ya

yea the thing only had 200 miles on it at the track yesterday, couldnt flat foot shift 1-2 because it wouldnt go in! lol, if i just bolt hte 24.5" slicks on ill have to change gearing or itll kill my 1/4 trap...

so zc gearing and 24.5" slicks and its there im guessing... id love to do it on the 22x9's!!!

how realistic do u think that is? maybe dual stage mbc??? a 4.8 in the 330 would have got me there i think! and i still think the car has more mph in it lol

I ran a 24.5 on a stock Z6 trans and it wasn't all that bad. The 22's won't let you add any power until 3rd so def go with 24.5's

I ran single stage boost, and it was fine actually. Just get the chassis dialed well enough to handle it and let it spin in 1st. What suspension are you on?

honestly i have NO idea...

the engine has like 300 miles on it now lol, and the drive to the track is 100 miles there and 100 back lol...

i started it up, street tuned it and wen to the track lol...

based off that the car weighs 2520 with me in it on raceday, the hp calculators say 432whp...

haha yea its my daily lol...

im really easy on it driving it all week tho, not much of a street racer, i feel bad enough going out at 3am and doing the street tune lol...

hmm, so i guess some weight reduction and big slicks are in order...

anyone know where i can find a zc 3rd at? i have the cx/vx 3rd already! so all i need is 1 gear and some slicks!

When I got street tuned my tuner wanted me to top out 3rd gear.

I had a 4 speed tranny at the time.
