Default My mini-me monster..... before and after buildup

Here is a pic of before:

It went from a stock y7 motor, then I put on an ex intake manifold, and then an ex head. It was running a stub intake (lol) some no name header with a jg cam. I decided I wanted to stick to sohc since a lot of people are going dohc. Really wanted a k-series but couldnt afford it.

Here is the after picture:

I bought a greddy kit, using the emanage and probably gonna stick with it since its such a mild turbo kit. I have yet to put on my jrc intercooler. Its painted black, i just need one 2" 90 degree bend and then its on. Right now, its pinging around 5k and up. I think its the lack of fuel so i just bought 310cc injectors and buying a fuel pump. let me know what you guys think.

before, i had 45 shot of nitrous on a wet system. But this is a lot faster then when i was running nitrous. Its very smooth, small turbo with not lag. sucks because i cant push it because its pinging up top, just need to put my intercooler, injectors, and fuel pump on. Then buying a zex cam and taking it to the dyno to get tuned

i didnt have to clock the turbo, you shouldnt have to clock the turbo, the actuator arm will get messed up if you do.

thanks everybody for the comments. just bought some 310cc injectors and hopeing to get a 2 inch 90 degree bend so i can put on my intercooler.

You can't just buy bigger injectors and have the problem solved. Isn't the e-manage tunable? Sean (Ricey McRicerton) had a similar setup and tuned the e-manage on his own with a wideband.

I'm running DSM 450's and an uberdata chipped P28 with a map made by John Kerr (93turbo16 on here). He had a greddy kit on a d16z6 and was running 450's. His map works perfectly on my car. Runs smooth as hell, no fuel problems.

You don't want pinging AT ALL. Detonation + boost = kablamo!

ain that the truth, detonation is no fun!!! id get rid of that emanage and get someone to chip an ecu for you, i prefer john but there are many other great tuners out there that are cheap

Ahh dang that sucks. The shipping isn't bad if you buy a bunch of bends though. I bought a bend kit with 7 bends and shipping was around $15.

i have an adjustable cam gear. it allowed me to set cam timing to 0. is it true the cam timing is off by 4.75 degrees on the mini-me? i bought the adj. cam gear cus i was afraid of getting bent valves since this engine is an interferance engine and all. also, you have to run 93 octane right? cus 7-11 gas stations carry 91 octane - one of 5 grades instead of the usual 3.

i also have an adjustable cam gear. im not sure about the timing, dont really remeber. Greddy recomends running 92 or higher octane. But in ca we only got 91, so i fill it up with 91
