My turbo build, a few questions/your opinions ... Ive searched
Ive a 95 Prelude Si currently with and H23a1 in the bay and a h23a1 in my garage that im starting the process of building for turbo. Im on a fairly limited budget for the project so Im wondering a few things
How good are the stock pistons for boost?
What can I go to safely Im kind of hoping for 10ish.
Im hoping to get realisticly 250hp 300 tops
Im thinking of the AEM EMS for my ECU what do you guys think of that, anyone used it?
Ill be using an IHI RHF5 VF4 turbo (stock off of the subaru legacy gt 05 i think it was, mine is factory new)
Anyone kow of tuners that can help me with this after I get it all put together, again NW suburbs of Chicago area
Does anyone know good reputable machinists in the north west chicago suburbs area that I can take the block to for bore and line honing, Ive got 2 spun bearings, one on the #3 crank journal and one on the piston rod closest to the timing belt
Im trying to avoid sleeving the block but if i have to then so be it, wheres a good place to go and about how much does it cost, Ive seen it discussed anywhere from 400-1000
Mahles gold series forged pistons are supposedly compatible with FRM liners, anyone know if the H23 pistons from Arias are also compatible, the pistons are made from the same alloy as the Mahles.
I did the fuel injector calculations and came out to 370cc Im thinking id go with 440's tomake sure Ive got the fuel I need. Can somebody let me know if im looking at the right size
Thanks

how did you come to 550, I found a site online a while ago which is where I got the math for the injectors from, but I havent been able to find it so i can post up the equations used.

you'd prolly be better asking this in the prelude forum. 370cc isn't enough for 350 hp though, 550 sounds more like it.

I was in the prelude forum, they refered me here
as for the overall HP thats not nearly my biggest concern.
Is there a general rule for sizing injectors? The thing i went through involved a lot of brake specific fuel consumption and injector duty cycle stuff.
I definately need the services of a machinist (specifically one familiar with FRM) for my block, any suggestions for one in the chicago area?
