My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
Well here we go. I bought this car about a year ago on the intentions of building a Turbo car out of it. Its a 96 GSR I purchased from the original owner and had only 52k miles on it. Car had been VERY well taken care of. I've now got the motor and trans on the floor. Finished the fuel pump install tonight and figured I'd start a thread to keep everyone up to date. Well enough words, onto the pictures. Here's how the car started its life in my garage..
the bra was just for the long trip home
These are the only pics that I had loaded on my pc, and I learned about 4mins ago on how to post images, so Ill go in the back bedroom and get some good teaser photo's,,,,,,stay tuned

Re: My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
ok, so my goal "was" and I emphasize was because it went from a stock long block 300whp mild build, to now a Golden Eagle 2.0 looking for around 500+ whp with a/c. Yes a/c because summers here in the south are 100+ degrees and a lot of humidity. cannot go without it. Anyways, I've had N/A hondas, one dc2 that with I/H/E went a 14.6 @96, and a 96 lude with skunk2 IM and stg1 pro cams I/h/e that made 206whp at T1 race development, but have always wanted a turbo honda, was hooked since the first time I rode in one. I wanted something reliable enough to drive to the track and bring it home in one piece, everyone around me says it cant be done with a turbo honda and it fuels the fire more just to prove em wrong. Ive raced motorcycles all my life and Im a true believer that if you build something correctly that it will last and be reliable. So heres a rundown of the build, "in short"
p72 head, P&P with 1mm oversized ferrea valves,
Ferrea TI retainers and matching double springs
2" hotside piping, will be blowing into a 600hp precision cooler
2.5" coldside
Skunk2 68mm TB
SKunk2 port matched IM
Hondata intake mani gasket
GE 84mm block o' ringed
CP 9.7 pistons
eagle rods
LS crank
ACL's with honda thrust washers
3" DP,
Inline pro cast stainless manifold
Shodan special turbo.....
Skunk2 3" catback
and ice cold a/c blowing out the vents
and now for the teasers, Im going for the black look too, I hate shiny!!

Man this is a low budget build hahah just playing you got some nice parts in here. I like the flat black look too. And you got a super clean integra to start with. Good luck boost high and don't look back

Looks VERY interesting. I'm surprised you didn't have the intercooler anodized black.. there are ways to do that without resorting chipping rattle can paint or radiator paint.
Do you by chance have pictures of the exhaust manifold? I don't know the emissions laws where you are, but you would be better inclined to run that as a wastegate dump and not into the exhaust stream.
At the power levels you're proposing that could cause some turbulence and a bit less responsiveness in the car. I understand people concern about noise, but at the point where it matters, you're paying to much attention to drive the car than just a wastegate opening. In the Integras are not so bad when it comes to wastegate dump sounds, and as long as its pointing straight down, it won't get into the cabin of the car and cause you to pass out.
The car looks fantastic. Looks like we might be seeing a Californiadad Part 2 here..

And the recirculated dujmp pipe has me a little concerned, although I did want it kinda "stealthy" but I dont wanna kill 30-40 horse from it if it will hurt that bad. Oh and the question about emissions...wtf are those?? ahhh hahahaha, "tongue out smiley" the pro's of living in good ol' mississippi.

Re: My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
Well, luckly work was extremely slow today so I went home on lunch and grabbed my Quaife LSD, trans, and busted axles. I was up on the favor list from my good friend who just happens to be a damn good Honda master tech at the Honda dealer I work for so he got busy getting it all knocked out, all for a the low fee of a free lunch at a good local burger joint too! Thanks,B
and finished product..
OEM axles, rebuilt and booted ready for install

Re: My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
Ok so my threads been a little dead lately due to the machine shop taking there sweet a** time, but I have gotten a few things done: painted the ugly axles, buffed my 98-00 headlights since I'm changing from 96 style, gotten some more goodies in from UPS, so here's some pics for all you guys to check out.

Re: My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
Did some smoothing on the exhaust mainfold, for as much as everyone rants and raves about the inline pro stainless manifold it sure was a little "unfinished" looking if you ask me.

Re: My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
lol thats nice as well but i was more excited about the exhaust side, ive never seen a turbo setup that fit so well before using a good manifold like that. Usually everything is all cockeyed and **** and you have to ditch either the PS or AC. This gives me hope for a future turbo build down the road.

Re: My Turbo 2.0 LSVTEC build
What's concerning me is the the way the dump tube is angled into the exhaust stream at a 90 degree angle. That can seriously affect the way the turbocharger will behave because of the exhaust turbulence. If you can change that either to an actual dump or change that angle further downstream, you'll have a much better experience with this.
