Default Is my oil return line angled TOO high?

My tech says the oil wont drain right because 1. the Earls fitting goes up at too high of an angle and 2. the hole isnt drilled high enough in the oil pan?

What do you all think?

The pic was taken at an angle so its not THAT drastic of a upward degree in to the oil pan.

Pics from the turbo side.

It looks fine to me. I dont know how big you drilled the hole in the pan, but the return line looks ok. If you ever check out steph. p.'s car, his return line is almost level. Also, if you look at a stock turbo VW...their oil return lines are low in the oil pan. I do think the higher the better though.

Its going to drain as high as the level of oil in the pan. If the oil is 1" above where your new hole is, you will have one inch of oil in your return.

This still leaves >18" for the oil to drain out of the turbo unrestricted.

as long as the turbo is higher than the oil pan i know for sure you will have no problems

LOL...mine used to look exactly like that except I had a flat run for about 3". I did the same thing as you at the turbo...just slipped the braided hose over the brass fitting. Now I have a 1/2" NPT 90 threaded into the flange, and a 45 fitting off that. Here are some pics.

Oh, where did you get the flex pipe that fit your WG dumpdube?? I NEED some!
