My new 4" exhaust, check it
These are a few pic of the exhaust while it was being constructed. I'll try to get some pictures of the finished product. The tip is new polished and the whole exhaust is very discrete. I'll get some pictures of the back of the car so you can see it in context. You would never know the thing has a full 4" mandrel-bend exhaust if you weren't explicity looking for it.
Here they are:
Like I said, I'll get some further-back pictures of the back of the car. This has been built completely by Joule (http://www.joulespeed.com) for my SFWD hatchie. The piping is aluminized steel (which I chose for the cheaper price).
Total parts cost: just over $300 (from jegs, jcwhitney and project dc2).
The fitment is excellent. There is no rattling or contact with any suspension or body parts, and it does completely go over the rear lower-control arm (as you can see in the last picture), so ground clearance is at a maximum, especially considering this is a 4" exhaust on a civic. A dual hangar-setup was utilized in the rear to ensure that the exaust will stay intact. It is attached to a full-race 3" mandrel DP. Right after the DP, there is a 3"->4" adapter with a flange on it. From the downpipe back, its 4".

Re: My new 4" exhaust, check it (servion)
Awesome, but don't you know from the haters that 4" is worthless
I would be very interested to see a quick dyno comparing 4" to 3" on the same dyno/same boost if that's at all possible. I think you'll see some good gains

i find this hard to believe in the audible sense but visually it seems to be!
Nice setup

True, true. I could not really hear vtec switch cam profiles until I got this thing.
I would do a back-to-back comparison, but the old exhaust got hacked up in the process. It wouldn't have been very good anyway, because the old exhaust was a 3" that was not mandrel bent.
I made 524WHP with the old crush-bent exhaust.... hopefully this will help that

I didn't mean for you to uninstall the 4" and reinstall the 3" just to test, but if you ever hit the dyno I remember you dynoed at like 13 psi or something like that, if you could run the same dyno at the same boost, it isn't that fair of a comparison vs. 3" crush bent, but if it spools 750 RPM's sooner and makes 75 WHP more at the same boost vs. crush bent, you gotta guess it's still worth a lot over mandrel 3"

Woah, I didn't think anyone would remember that Yeah, I will definitely post a dyno up at the same boost level to compare to the old one. Hopefully within a week or less.

Yeah but a 180 degree mandrel bend with only (2) 8" of straight to work with costs $52 plus shipping. Does anyone know where to get aluminized straight 4", the downpipe I'm working with is looking like it's going to end about centered under the oil pan.

You can get 4' sections of 4" aluminzed pipe for $17 from http://www.jegs.com (that's where mine comes from).
I bought 2 90' bends and 1 180' bend, a $110 4" muffler and 12' of straight pipe. I did not use all of the straight pipe either (the $300 cost included all 12' of stright pipe)
