Default My h22a turbo setup, what you guys think.

I currently swapped a h22a into my del sol. I drove it for like 2k and I got board so now im going to boost it. Here is my part list
t3/t4 60 trim
custom mani
450cc dsm
jrc 5 inch
2.5 inch dwn pipe and charge pipes
p28 with iab control, uberdata
I have been researching about the issues with the h22a and boost and it def worries me. My plan is basically to run 7-8 psi max prob 6 cuz im a ***** with moderate timing. I dont even plan on boosting the car untill I strap the bitch to a dyno. Like I said ive been researching it alot. Looking for some advice from people who have boosted h22a in this fashion, not the misleeding rumor bs thats associated with the h22

That setup looks good and a good start. With a good dyno tune you shouldnt have any problems running like 8 lbs. Sounds like fun good luck with it

I won't sprout misleading information but here goes. I had almost an identical setup. I had a 18G turbo and i just modified the ic piping to fit with a CCA ic. I didn't skimp on engine management and went with AEM EMS. The p28 with uberdata always gave me a solid CEL, never figured why. Since then I got a new harness and rewired it. I ran about 6psi of boost and it didn't really last that long but the engine had about 100k miles on it. It lasted about 5 months. Then I got ridiculous blow by. It came from cyl 1... Tore it down, and behold a broken ringland. The oddest thing was there was no detonation, nothing. It was tuned properly. The engine just couldn't take it I guess. I found out the motor was a converted type s as I found type s pistons when it was torn down. Just have a good tuner and it should run great. Good luck.

sounds like a good setup, but id recommend a 3" dp and 3" straight through exhaust - it will show tremendous gains.

When it comes to turboing an h22, its 50/50. Some make amazing power and some just blow. My first time around, the motor blew in like 100 miles, but that was because the balance shaft seal went.

Anyway, I say 8psi is feasible/reliable with a good tune. Should make somwhere in the 275-290whp range.

Goodluck
