My GSR turbo project
Hey guys.
First time going FI and after a ton of research ive pieced together most of this kit already and its coming down to install time. The car is a '01 GSR. Large aspect of this install is the ecu is being converted to OBD1. I will be tuning with uberdata. The stock intake manifold will make its way into the install *sigh* so secondary runners will be disabled. Won't be reinforcing the motor right now so im keeping the boost low, im looking for 250-260whp after a good dyno tune @ 7psi of boost. Here is my parts list.
.57 trim T3/T4 hybrid turbo from a Revhard kit
RCautoworks log manifold with 90 deg 38mm wastegate flange
38mm Tial wastegate w/ .5bar spring
38mm flanged SS dump tube
RCautoworks Custom 3" open Down pipe
2.5" inlet intercooler (28x6x3 in)
2.5" Stainless Steel intercooler piping
Greddy type S BOV
Oil line return kit
manual boost controller
Fuel/engine management
Chipped p28 ecu
Obd2b->Obd1 conversion harness
RC 440cc injectors
OBD1 injector clips
B&M fpr modifier
Walboro 255lph high pressure pump
Clutch
Exedy stage 1 clutch
Fidanza 7.5lb flywheel
What do you guru's think about this kit? Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Get rid of the missing link. You won't need it unless you never want the ecu to read any boost. Tune it with CROME and datalog with freelog. Uberdata is worthless.

I was told I needed the missing link. But since my ecu is chipped to see boost, I see where you are coming from.

Yeah the type of program ill use is still in the air... depends on who can tune using what reliably over here.

Man U FTW
i would get a different clutch and flywheel combo....i have an 11lb fly w/ my Exedy stage 2 clutch and it is a good combo for me. I think that the lightweight flywheel will cause you some boosting problems since there isn't as much load on the engine...i have problems getting more than 6psi in first gear.
Its not a HUGE deal, but something to think about....

I'm going with a local reputable tuner in the area. Will be using a Crom Pro basemap and will be tuned there short after.

Sticking with the clutch/flywheel combo. Nothing I can do about that now.

Re: (tweekerz)
So the kit is being installed finally on Tuesday... I'm excited but nervous. Install wise everything I think will be pretty standard. IAB's are disabled on the p28 so I have to rig the butterflys to stay open on my gsr IM.
What do you guys think about my setup? Any words of advice before I go to the dark side?

Re: (Slammd Sol)
I was told that id have to rig the lever on the side of the intake manifold. If its open by default then Its a matter of plug and play right?
