My Future Turbo set up, turbo gods please check
Hey, I'm kinda new to the H-T world, and especially the FI portion of it, Here is the set up I'm planning to run, and I would like some of you guys to check it, just to make sure its perfect or atleast isnt problem prone as I cant afford to redo (Just turned 18 still in HS)
Car 93 Honda Civic HB
Goal 300-400 streetable hp (More in the future)
engine B18c1
Sleeved Block with Darton Ductile Sleeves
Toda S2 cams (or relative to)
All upgraded internals (i.e. forged rods, pistons, upgraded valves Etc.)
A decent amount of port work done to the head, 3 angle valve job, etc. (may go
with dart head)
Upgraded bolt-ons, i.e. IM, TB, Injectors, Fuel Pump, in otherwards built to handle
the power it will be fed.
now to the turbo stuff
Turbo:Edited! looking at T3/T67, thanks 99blackcivicsi)
Love Fab sst manifold
40mm Tial wastegate
Greddy R (is this any good? dont know much about BOV)
3" everything
3" DP flowing no cat to a Thermal R&D Turbo exhaust
Highly upgraded Fuel Management, Hondata, sending unit, pump, lines etc.(not sure yet what to run, Suggestions?)
Hondata Boost option
3" in/out large Intercooler(not sure exactly yet which one or size)
do you think I should get an after cooler as well, I deffinatly will in the future, but I think I should be ok for now with the 300-400 hp range.
sorry if I forgot something, Im a little tired, but the main goal of this car is to have decent streetable numbers, and just be able to whoop some *** , as for DD goes I have another car if the HB needs some work, I have done as much research as possible and just thought I would run it past the FI Gurus here at HT. Now please dont flame me for being spoiled, I have earned everything that went into this car and my other car. Thanks Again for all the help this place is great!

Definatly i think you have been reading too much into the the poeple that do T4 and SPTFWD, there is no one that i know of that runs a turbo that large i am going to be running the full race PT67 (P trim) look into that that will totally suffice your needs that you want to do may even be to big for that also look into to full races T3/T67 great turbo and puts down GOBS of power.
I think the greddy type R is a bit pricey i like my HKS SS BOV works great good sound.
The intercooler why so huge the 3" in and out? are you running 3" piping too? talk about not keeping boost pressure up.
Just some stuff to think about PM me if you have any more questions

OK, so your 18, you have a grand cherokee and you want to spent about 15-20 grand on a turbo setup- How? Oh and don't forget with 300-400 hp stopping becomes a whole new issue

over built! in my opinion! 300 can be done with less money! 400 is not that hard either!

ok, thanks guys, I just have common knowledge of turbos, and saw a build up I wanted to emulate, thus coming up with the t72, I looked into it a little more and it is a huge *** turbo, thanks for the help. Also Brakes have been upgraded, Thanks for the flame Dude! Full si swap upgraded Rotors and calipers. And is it impossible for a 18 y/o to work his *** off for stuff, no.

You dont need an intercooler that big, or 3" piping, the turbo is also big as well. Find you soemthing smaller, more responsive that can make your power goals with better spool times.

what would you suggest? I want to be able to boost higher when i go to the track, etc. but spooling up quick would be nice as well, I want to have a turbo good for about 500hp as come mid summer I wish to be pushing that number, but for now (meaning end of snow- spring time) im going to run 3-400hp. What should I look at when looking at turbos flow wise to reach 500? i.e. Compressor flow... thanks for all your help guys.

Screw the front mount: get a Vortech aftercooler. It's better for retaining boost all the way to the manifold and it's stealth as hell. It can also handle 400+hp without batting an eyelash.
