Default My first turbo kit, opinions/advice? Power estimates? 1/4 estimates?

I have been researching turbo options for my LS for a while, and I just traded for a pieced together kit. The car is a 94LS with 170K, and a GSR tranny w/45k. I considered going through the bottom end and resleeving w/new rods and pistons but it runs strong still so I think I"ll boost 'til it blows and then build. Anyway, here is the setup:

Lovefab SST
K26 Turbo
Delta wastegate 5-7 psi
Greddy typeS BOV
Probe intercooler
Vortech FMU
Piping, tapped pan

I plan to run 7lbs and add dsm 450's and a walbro 255.

So my questions are what power/TQ #s and 1/4 times am I looking at? My Guesses are 210/170 and 13.7 ish.

Also, any info/advice /opinions on the setup or components are welcoomed!

Don't waist your money on the FMU, just buy the dsm injectors and get something to control them (afc, smc...). Also, what is a k26 turbo, I've never seen or heard of one. You say that your motor runs strong, but did you do a compression test?? Go buy a tester, it's like $40. If the numbers are decent then go ahead and boost it. BTW if thats your car in your avatar, it doesn't deserve a turbo, it already looks fast enough!

nope not my car in the avatar, compression is fine, and the FMU comes in the deal, so it's not wasting any money. Is it nescessary to get the dsms and walbro if i'm using the fmu? I had considered burging an eprom using Uberdata for a 7psi basemap, which would be close to "tuned" but not totally.... anyone else??

And the K26, it's small, used by Porsche and Saab...on a b16 it produced full boost (7psi) @ 3300rpm

If you get the FMU, you will need another fuel pump, because the FMU raises the fuel pressure ALOT, and the stock pump won't be able to handle it. I say sell the FMU, get the DSM's, or any other injectors around that size (440's, 550's) and use something to control them (afc, uberdata, hondata). If you use the FMU you don't need the larger injectors. On my car I have the SMC, DSM injectors, and upgraded intank fuel pump.

IMO, GReddy is the perfect first turbo. Nothing crazy, excellent quality and fit n' finish, and makes good power. They're also relativley cheap.. just my .02
