Default My dealings with Jordon Kohler

I just need to vent..
this should possibly be put in the general forum but I mostly frequent the FI forum.
Here is what happened. Jordon had posted that he had his Tilton ceramic/metallic clutch for sale for 1000.00 "just installed and with only 20 miles on it" so I figure that this is a good deal that I should not pass up. Little did I know what kind of frustrating mess I got myself into. I PM'd him and offered him the deal that I would send him my brand new CM stage 5 and Act Prolite and 500.00. This was the deal. I figured **** Ill give him a good deal (500 bucks for a new cm stage 5 and a new ACT prolite) which would be 300 on the clutch and 200 on the flywheel. A steal no matter how you look at it. This way he could use that setup giving him a tad more streetablility.

Well here is the IM:

Jordo (10:45 AM 5/27/2004): yes

Jordo (10:46 AM 5/27/2004): yeah id do taht

Dublocivic (11:10 AM 5/27/2004): Ok sounds like a deal! So you have everything needed to completly install it right?
Let me know and we can get things going.. Can you take Pay Pal or would you want a cashiers check or something..?

Jordo (12:13 PM 5/27/2004): yes

Jordo (12:15 PM 5/27/2004): cashiers check, i dont wanan get screwd by paypal

Jordo (12:15 PM 5/27/2004): now my clutch is still in the car, the car is parked though, i need the new cltuch and stuff, so i can pul it out

Jordo (1:07 PM 5/27/2004): you will get the clutch and everything, my tuenr is waiting for me to bring the new clutch, so we can put swap it out.
i have alot of people that can vouch for me. dont worry about getting screwed

Jordo (3:06 PM 5/27/2004): is there any way you could just come up with the cash, id give it to you for 1000

Dublocivic (3:37 PM 5/27/2004): Not really because I dont have the 1000 to spend out right.. its tied up in this clutch and flywheel that I have here.

Dublocivic (3:37 PM 5/27/2004): I can do the trade though.. I have enough for that.

Jordo (4:10 PM 5/27/2004): ok thats cool, lets just do that

Dublocivic (4:11 PM 5/27/2004): ok send me your info and Ill get it rolling....

Jordo (5:39 PM 5/27/2004): awesome, ill get you a guide to instal lit

Dublocivic (5:57 PM 5/27/2004): Thanks, I appreciate it. Nothing is wrong with the clutch right? Just want to make sure.

Jordo (6:19 PM 5/27/2004): yes everything was perfect

Dublocivic (6:40 PM 5/27/2004): cool..alright well Ill send it off on monday then... done deal..

Jordo (10:14 PM 5/27/2004): what is the model number on the clutch?

Jordo (10:17 PM 5/27/2004): when will everything be shipping my way? i have the clutch and flywheel sold already

Dublocivic (1:01 PM 5/28/2004): cool sounds good. Little misunderstanding.. haha I was like, ****.. thats fucked up ... its all good. Ill send the stuff on monday.

Jordo (1:26 PM 5/28/2004): sweet, your sending everything?

Dublocivic (2:02 PM 5/28/2004): yea Ill send the clutch and flywheel and let me know when your sending the Tilton off and Ill send the money.

Jordo (2:08 PM 5/28/2004): ok

Jordo (2:01 PM 6/1/2004): ok i will make sure my mom is home, i guess you can just paypal it

Dublocivic (2:02 PM 6/1/2004): Let me know how you want it. If you have a PayPal account it just gets wired right into that account... there isnt anyway you wont get it..
Adam

Jordo (2:02 PM 6/1/2004): if you paypaled it toda, i can order my other clutch, and have the titlon for you right when the other clutch and stuff gets here

Jordo (2:02 PM 6/1/2004): Jordo5185@hotmail.com

Jordo (2:02 PM 6/1/2004): paypal fees are like 3 percent though, those fkers

Dublocivic (2:02 PM 6/1/2004): Ok then Ill send that your way PayPal'd either today if I can get to the bank or I will get it done tomorrow.

Jordo (2:03 PM 6/1/2004): ok thanks alot man

Dublocivic (2:05 PM 6/1/2004): The shipping on the clutch and flywheel should be about the same as the Tilton, so it should even up...

Jordo (2:52 PM 6/1/2004): ok

Jordo (3:14 PM 6/1/2004): if you could, just get a cerfiete check from your bank, thatd be better then paypal.

Jordo (3:14 PM 6/1/2004): send it cerfided, then youll be protected also

Dublocivic (6:00 PM 6/1/2004): lol.. I already transfered the money... and I am waiting for it to go through so that I could PayPal it..... Dont worry about me saying some bullshit about the clutch.. I hate getting screwed as much as you. As long as the Tilton is in great shape with 20 miles on it like you say there isnt any reason why everything wont go smooth as butta. There are tons of guys that'll back me on the board I am definately and upstanding H-T member.

Dublocivic (8:51 PM 6/1/2004): Make sure to send me the instructions that came with it.. just incase there are specific ways to adjust it etc..

Jordo (9:46 PM 6/1/2004): ok will do

This is where I noticed this thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=893560

Dublocivic (12:28 PM 6/14/2004): Hey did you race on the new clutch I sent you?

Jordo (1:30 PM 6/14/2004): the clutch will be heading your way thrusday

Dublocivic (1:59 PM 6/14/2004): So you raced on the Tilton?

Dublocivic (3:26 PM 6/14/2004): Soooo.. did you race on the Tilton?

Jordo (3:47 PM 6/14/2004): yes those runs were on the tilton...

Dublocivic (3:51 PM 6/14/2004): That pisses me off dude. I mean I have paid for the clutch and given you everything that was stated in the deal..
The deal was for a Tilton clutch with 20 miles on it just installed yadda yadda now Im getting a used clutch with a month's worth of driving on it and track passes on it. I gave you a hell of a deal on my clutch and flywheel LESS than what I had
paid for it. So when I add up what I have into this Tilton I will have spent 1200 bucks when I could have bought a new one for 1300! Now wouldnt you be a little pissed?!

Jordo (3:52 PM 6/14/2004): i can understand your frustratation, my math adds up to about 1000 dollars worth of parts.. for a $1350 clutch
and if you dont want the cltuch anymore i would understand, ill give you your stuff back and a refund if you dont want to go ahead and continue with the deal

Dublocivic (4:02 PM 6/14/2004): No man see the thing is what we had agreed on previously.. thats fucked up.
Look at retail on clutch masters stage 5 and the act prolite.
410.00 retail on the cm stage 5 and 279.00 on the pro lite
plus the 500.00 I sent you plus all of the shipping on all of it to my house then to your house Im over 1200.00 dollars. And the clutch can be had for 1300.00
You see what I am saying? I am pretty much at your mercy because you have my money and my clutch/fly.
What do you think is fair then if you can understand my frustration...?

Jordo (4:17 PM 6/14/2004): yes i do. like i said i will refund all your money. ill give you 525 to pay for your fees and whatnot

Dublocivic (4:24 PM 6/14/2004): I still want the clutch. I think that if you were to send me 100.00 and the Tilton that would be fine.. I dont think that is being unfair considering... If you can get it sent off by Thursday that would be great.

Jordo (5:24 PM 6/14/2004): man id rather just keep the tilton, ive grown quite fond of it..giving you 100 + tilton would be much out of my pocket

Dublocivic (5:26 PM 6/14/2004): NO regardless we made a deal you need to honor it...... I have been more than nice to do all of this, you cant flake dude

Dublocivic (5:28 PM 6/14/2004): I dont want this to turn into a big thing dude just honor what you said and be done with it. Im not about to send 600+ dollars worth of **** to you and then another 500 so you can decide now that you want out of the deal. You made the deal now honor it.

Jordo (5:31 PM 6/14/2004): I am going to honor it, the clutch will be shipped out thrusday

Jordo (6:26 PM 6/15/2004): OK man, i feel that i have treated you poorly. I feel that you should get a brand new tilton for the same price you have given me.
I spoke with boostfed on this matter, he told me he would give you a very very good deal, he told me he'd give you the lowest price around for the tilton clutch, He can also get a competition twin clutch for blah dollars even.
Your right, if the clutch was pulled and only had 20 miles, then that is exactly what you would have gotten. I will Ship all your stuff back, and send you the extra money to cover your shipping/money order fees. you need a NEW tilton, thats the better deal, then what youd be getting from me.

Dublocivic (8:21 PM 6/15/2004): OMFG dude this is bull ****. I dont have the money to get one out right thats why I sent the parts and the money. SO you are not making good on the deal then?

Jordo (9:07 PM 6/15/2004): it would be better for you to sell the parts and then buy one new.

Dublocivic (10:31 PM 6/15/2004): Oh yeah? is that what would be better for me to do? Ok Jordan I tell you what... Send me my clutch, flywheel and bearings back along with my money plus 50 bucks to cover all of my expenses. Email me or IM me with the tracking number tomorrow.

Jordo (10:39 PM 6/15/2004): ok

Dublocivic (11:54 AM 6/18/2004): Do you have a tracking number on my stuff?

Jordo (1:27 PM 6/18/2004):
tracking number is 0*****1896 fed ex

Dublocivic (3:05 PM 6/18/2004): it says its an invalid tracking number.

Dublocivic (11:35 AM 6/19/2004): Jordo what is the tracking number that one is not valid.

Jordo (12:42 PM 6/19/2004): ****, let me grab the sheet with the tracking on it

Jordo (12:42 PM 6/19/2004): ill have it for you when i get home, the sheet is in my laptop bag, ill get it for youw hen i go to lunch
0######896

Now if you have read this far I congratulate you...
I know this might be a tad off topic and I apologize but I wanted everyone else that may interact with him to know that he likes to flake. I hope this will help others avoid the frustration of dealing with him.
If I had not of seen that post I would have gotten a clutch that was used far beyond what the deal was for and I think that is Real shady
A side note he did return all of my stuff and the money, but after that I will never deal with him again.
Thanks for listening,
--Adam

I read that whole dam thing. B/c I am very bored at work. He seemed more then willing to help you out man. I don't know what your so pissed off about. I could see if he did not want to send you back your parts and pay for shipping but he sent you back your parts and he even payed you back for shipping. Unless I read that wrong.

He even spoke to someone else to get you a really good deal on the clutch. Just b/c you don't have the money now to buy it does not make him a bad seller.

I may be missing the point of this whole thread but I think I read it pretty clearly.

I think it's kinda shady what he did with the only 20 miles, but also, you have to give him credit for returning the money and clutch/flywheel without a hassle.

I wouldn't be happy about track passes on the clutch, but at least hes trying to make it right, most people would have killed it at the track and sent it anyway without trying to help at all, im not saying the whole thing is right though. Hope it gets resolved

I just got a tilton twin disc for $1200 brand new. I bought it from one of the sponsors, other than waiting for it to come in everything was great. They ended up shipping it to me straight from tilton. Larry

Im not saying that it wasnt nice that he tried to help me get a deal on one or sent my stuff back or whatever. Thats not the point! Im mad because of all the BS I went through. We had a deal I sent my money and parts (unopened) to him and he flaked. I thought I could spare others the frustration.

I don't see how he flaked. he was more then willing to give you your money back and pay for shipping. I've seen personally where people send stuff out+ cash for parts and not even get anything back! consider yourself lucky he didn't just run away with the money and clutch.

Yes it may have been frusttrating, but that is just a part of buying stuff off the Internet. One thing I do before I buy from someone is I do a search under thier name, I see where, what and when they post. I search for threads where someone may have had previous problems, once thats done I make sure to cover all my angles and I decide on whether or not I want to buy it.
You guys had a misunderstanding and from things Ive seen on here Jordo has offered more options to correct it than 90% of people would do. He's already agreed to cover shipping and misc expenses so that means you lose your time, he loses his time, but hes the only one who will be losing $$$.

Mistakes happen, I understand your frustrated, but be thankful that you have somoene who cares on the other end.

Dublocivic If I was you Id wait for your stuff, sell it, then once it's sold then buy your Tilton, **** Im 99% sure Jordo would be willing to give you the lead on who he was goinig to sell it to, to make your sale quick.

HJope everything gets resolved though

I felt if i would have shipped you the clutch, then i would have ripped you off.

I sent all your parts back and the money to make up for it.

You are and were better off buying a new one anyways.

I thought i handled it well. Now if i should get punished for that, then shame on me.

BTW the clutch was forsale for $1150, and my name is Jordan Kohler
