Icon2 MY D15B TURBO SETUP! opinions????

So i have basically a new d15b (20kaprox) in my ek hatch and was wondering what some of you guys thought about my setup. Im not going to have tune or chipped ecu to start but plan on it in the very near future. oh and a clutch once i need it.

50trim Emotor turbo
38mm Wastegate (6lb spring for start)
Drag manifold
Jackson Racing FMU
Walboro255 FP
DSM injectors
Emusa FMIC
Solid I/C pipes
Turbo XS BOV (knockoff)
MissingLink MAP bypass
3in Turbo-back exhaust

according to my friend this is everything i NEED to get it running for the streets but i just want some witnesses that know this. thanks for any info guys!!! : )

you can't run dsm injectors with a fmu, only stockers... you need a tune with the dsm's. Please please just get it tuned. you will hate yourself when it blows up because you didn't want to wait for the tune first.

x2!! Spend alittle extra for a fuel management system. With the stock injectors, It will be fine to run on the streets with that setup as long as you dont get boost greedy! With an EMS you will see a big difference!!

A FMU rises fuel pressure 12 psi for every 1 psi of boost (or 10, 8, 6... to 1 depends on which disc inside the FMU), giving the motor more fuel as it goes into boost. You can use the fmu and missing link with the stock injectors, but is not garanteed to work correctly and you have no timing control. You cannot just stick in injectors that are double the stock ones without some type of chipping. it will not idle or drive at all. Stock injectors are 240cc, dsm's are 450cc. you can sell the fmu and missing link on ebay, use that money toward getting it tuned.

so i can still use the Fmu and missing link with the stock inj if i choose? but it is better to use the dsm inj and get my ecu chipped? cuz i wanna maybe try to roll with the first setup on 6psi for like a week or two til i can get money for the ecu chip. but i dont want my motor to blowif thats what my origional setup will do.

you are correct, but would just wait till you have the money for a dyno tune. it might not blow up on the FMU, but if your willing to take a chance, thats up to you.

I got a new set of RC 550's for about $300 on ebay.... came with harnesses and everything. don't risk leaning out your motor for a relatively inexpensive piece of the puzzle. Your stock injectors will not work for what you want, and i would also recommend ARP headstuds and a good AEM Wideband setup.
Good luck!!

read up on PGMFI, www.xenocron.com, www.moates.net, and www.ectune.com

that FMU/missing link will make a good paper-weight, frisbee, or wheel chock, but thats about it.

Also, if you choose to run the DSM's, youll need to wire in a resistor box or individual resistors to your harness.

is his z6 in a 89-91 because they already have the resistor box stock. Just go rob a resistor box off an 0bd0 car or a 92-95 prelude.

^^^^ true true but most ppl dont know that this is possible. Just let him know that if he is running the dsm injectors with no resistor box or individual resistors then he is going to fry the injector driver out of the ecu

LOLed so hard. So true. It sounds a lot like my first setup, which exploded violently.

A clutch "when you need it" would mean the first time you start the car. Don't cut corners. FMU / missing link / afc is worth less than nothing.

i have 2 friends with close to the same setup... one runs ok cause its tuned right.. on 10lbs.. the other is got the missing link and a chipped p28 with 2-step... but instead of a good tune.. the guy who chipped it just hooked his computer to it.. upped the fuel a Shitload when it started to lean..and the car spits and spudders on 8lbs... guy traded a H22A for it with a p28 on crome?... tell me who lost out there.. but overall.. if u just get a good tune.. it will run good.
