ChanpLSinteg's build...what do y'all think?
What’s up guys! I regularly see people post there set ups here so I figured why not post mine too! This is my third build with the same turbo. My first was with a stock block lsvtec making 280whp on the 2.25in exhaust for almost a year until I decided to go with a 3in exhaust without doing a retune. That ended in blown ringlands. Soon after I picked up a RS sleeved type r block. I built it using 81.5mm 9.8:1 wisecos and eagle rods. It cracked a piston due to overheating and a .0025in pw clearance. I should have gone with my gut to go with a larger clearance but I didn’t. This time around I went with .004in to allow some room for error, just in case. All built by me and tuned by Dave at DNR performance . This has been a nightmare for my fiancee by she has supported me anyways Here’s my set up…
Head:
Stock port B16 head
Buddy Club P1 springs and retainers
ITR intake cam / GSR exhaust
VictorX intake manifold
Stock LS throttle body
Block:
83mm RS sleeved B18C5
9.8:1 CP pistons
Eagle Rods w/ 3/8 bolts
ARP head studs
Polished and balanced LS crank
ITR oil pump / water pump and OEM gaskets
Honda Bearings
Transmission:
GSR with OBX lsd
Competition Stage 5 Clutch
Turbo:
Full-Race ramhorn
t3/t4 60trim w/.63ar
3in downpipe
3in exhaust
44mm Tial wastegate
50mm Tial BOV
2.5in intercooler piping
Ebay intercooler
Fuel:
Precision 1000cc injectors
AEM fuel rail
Aeromotive A1000 FPR
Walbro 255
Electronics/Tuning:
Hondata S300
PLX M300 wideband
Greddy Profec B Boost Controller
MSD 6AL
Here are some pics...
and this is the outcome...

I actually get lower numbers with the calculators. I called CP and had them calculate it and they said it was 9.7 with unsurfaced head and estimated it around 10:1 with the head is milled .012. I didnt have the combustion chamber volume so he said 10:1 is probably tops.

Nice car man. I'm a little confused over the "this has been a nightmare for my fiancee" No build should be that much drama to create a nightmare....what made it so bad?

I spent most of my time in the garage or online whenever I was not at work, money, driving a "highly modified" car on california streets, the garage is a mess! LOL, etc.
Now that I am done, for now, I have been spending more time with her.

Re: (champLSinteg)
Thanks for the props!
By the way, the little dip in the top end was caused by a little boost drop. it went from 15psi to 14ish for a moment and recovered.
Now I need some more seat time.

I have to look at the datalogs but I think it was around 4700ish. I rev to 9200 to its quite a powerband!

It will this Saturday at CMI. I've done 12.1 with a shitty 60ft. I need to get an alignment, lower the tire pressure and get more seat time
