stock internal greddy turbo kit (intercooled) on 00 civic ex vtec with act clutch 8 psi. i had one passenger, my gf and she''s not fat =]..

i had mad wheel hope first gear..didnt go anywhere for 2 seconds.. for sure.. just skipping at the same place. than it took off. Also i notice that my boost doesnt get full till 4200 rpm?? now wtf is that?? weird.. can this be a boost leak?? i remember instaling my turbo kit, that i never installed the <U>turbin outleg gasket</U> because i got the wrong ones so i never put it on, recently it feels like im building boost hella later and lags a lot..? can the turbine outlet gasket have caused that?? any help is apprieciated thax.

car set up is this.

greddy td04 15g turbo kit
greddy type 31 intercooler
dc sport catback exhaust with gutted cat
greddy blue box
greddy profec b
-1 degree colder plug ngk
stock everything else...

i also have two check engine light, one is knock sensor 23 and other is 2nd cat.. 67.. cause im going obd1 soon so im nmot too worried about thos.. so what can cause my small turbo to spool so late??

2.6 60' foot times are terrible. Get that down to the area of 2.2 and you'll be much happier with your timeslip. Also get those CEL off, they personally bugg the hell out of me, and rob you of so much power. Your asking us why it runs like crap, well because of the check codes, don't expect anything real substantial till you take care of both of the problems. Good luck.

Wow that's shitty, my old d16z6 w/ a Greddy kit managed low 14's all day. Something is seriously wrong. There has to be a leak somewhere.

Build a boost leak tester. Us dsm guys are dumb but we know a few things. I've never tested a turbo car and NOT found a boost leak. Mine holds ~25 psi,and slowly bleeds to 10 psi after close to a minute. That is acceptable. And yes, a boost leak will kill performance. THe turbo is forced to flow more air and it falls way off the compressor flow maps resulting in bad performance.

I just ran with my greddy turbo and intercooler d16z6 at the track and only managed a 15.1 with a reaction time of 5.11 and a couple 15.2, I think it should be running faster!! What do you guys think? I wonder if I have a leak??

i ran 8 psi got a 13.6 in my 94 cx full interior...read the sig...i make 177 whp at 8 psi untuned and 186 tuned.....a lil lighter then u guys but get ur 60 ft times down to 2.2-2.3 and ull get mid to high 14's no prb

a local guy here in lousiiana has the same set up only in a 98 ex. Hes running like 8-9 psi at track and his best time to date is a 14.5. You should be in the high 14s easy.

I have a red hatch with carbon hood, wing and wings west lip kit running on 15" rims. It felt like I was losing power in the top end. Im not sure if im running rich enough?? Heres the slip of my best run:

As far as my fuel goes it is all stock except for a B&M fuel regulator, but the greddy kit came with a piggyback fuel computer that is hooked up to my ecu.. but I was only running 40 psi

Also I've only had the kit on for a week and I dont have a boost guage.. Greddy claims that their kit comes at 5 or 6 psi from the factory, should I go by their word or should I go out and get a boost guage to see where im at?

Yeah i remember your car, I had the 94 white civic coupe.
Anyways those times seem about rite for the first time out, get more comfortable with the car, learn it better and your times will drop. My first time at the track i was runing high 14's low 15's with my set-up (b16 and 10psi) because i wasn't any good. I got my times down to high 13's with the same set-up once i got comfortable with the car and launching. Lastnight sucked for me because of traction issues, i did my best to control the wheel spin without sacrificing my times. Just learn your car a little. Hell that turbo lude was runing 16's because he didn't know how to drive (just turbo'd his car too).....
Either there were lot of not so good drivers lastnight or it was just a bad night for everybody, the only good runs came from that crx (should have been better then 10.7 for that much power) and the domestics that were runing 9's- 11's....keep trying

Knock sensor? check timing, its prolly pinging at higher RPMs and retarding timing before you detonate your engine to shreds. What gas are you running.
Why the hell are you running a car at the track with CEL's?? You are retarded.

I had the same problems when I first got my motor built- ran mid-low 15's with 10PSI on built D16, but sinc, I changed my head to D16z6, and changed fuel, and went from consistent mid-low 15's to high 13's on street tires.

Yeah, I really think everyone had a bad night, the guy with the orange hatch with a turbo'd b18c ran a 15.2 @ 5 psi.. I felt bad for him, so hopefully the next time out will be better, but it felt like I was launching pretty good, we'll see? You gonna be there wednesday for import mix? Maybe that night will turn out better..

No i have to work, I took off early so i could run friday. the one car that really impressed me was the guy runing a gs-r in his hatch. He was runing consecutive 13.6's with nothing more then 12.5:1 compression. He claims to have ran a 13.1 but 13.6 seems really good for the minimal stufff done. Untuned. anyways, i need to get slicks before i head back out, traction was a big issue for me and i'm not going to see much better times until i get more tracton. I will definatly be back out there soon....my buddy with the white hatch (big fmi) needs more time behind the wheel so his times will drop too, you'll probably see more of us out there starting next month...

Yeah I went out last night and didn't run any better, I ran like four 15.1's, but my launching is good and im consistent, so I know my car isn't gonna run any faster.. My 60' times are good (2.2) but top end in third and into fourth my car seems to slow, I dont know what the hell is wrong with it?? But it was a pretty good turn out, I got 11 runs compared to last friday when I only got 4..

Cool, i think i'm going to go again on the 30th of may. Your best bet is to run your car on a dyno to see whats going on. Thats will give you a better idea of what the engine is doing.....and if there is a problem that needs to be addressed

Yeah, I plan on running it on the dyno at intec, seems like they know a lot of **** so hopefully they can give me a hand.. guess i'll just wait and see

I finally ran on the dyno today and turns out i was running way too rich, so it was leaned out and it bumped me up 16 horses and 11 footpounds torque, im now at 146.7 max power and 140 max torque, now im waiting to run it at the track!
