My 300+whp sc-34 dyno!
After a long time trying to find pieces to finish my setup, it's finally done. Enjoy and comment away!
My setup:
Usdm B18c1 block
USDM B16a2 head
Arp studs
Oem headgasket
Complete tubular manifold
Precision sc34 turbo
Precision 580s injectors
Tial Wastegate
Tial BOV
2.5 flared to 3 downpipe
3" crush bend exhuast to 3" magnaflow muffler
B&M fpr
Jackson racing fuel filter
Walboro 255lph fuel pump
Hallman boost controller
Hondata s200
My comments:
Dyno was at 11psi on a conservative tune at a shop called Redline. Air/fuel was at 11.75 throught the powerband. The graph is bumpy due to my manual boost controller. The ceramic ball inside reacted too quickly and could hold the pressue steady even when v-tec kicked in causing the dip at vtec engagment. We did try to add fuel and timing to areas that needed it but the results were the same and my tuner said it was the boost controller causing it.

I know a lot of people perfer the sc61 over the sc34 or sc44 but I wanted something that would spool quick for daily driving. Bigger isn't always better IMO

Re:
those are pretty good numbers @ 11psi...i was trying to debate on wheter i should go the same route doing a slightly higher compression motor @ lower boost or just dropping the compression down (maybe thicker head gasket) and running higher boost...but in your case i guess it doesnt seem to bad running higher compression @ lower boost
HIGH COMPRESSION IS WHERE YOU ARE GETTING YOUR POWER
good numbers heiu...do more research

Re: Re: (sirq2u)
When do you reach full boost on your SC34? I have pretty much the same setup, but I think i have a slight leak in my charge pipe, I hit 7psi at like 4500rpms

If my research is correct, it should be a 9.8:1 CR. Use c-speed racing compression calculator to verify:
http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php
and here's many more articles explaining a poor man's r setup doesn't just mean putting a b16 head on a gsr...you have to change out the pistons. I, on the other hand....did not change out my pistons. It is a full gsr bottom end.

So to answer your question, I DID do my research and I AM at 9.8:1 CR

I hit 11psi around 4200

I have a custom 3" crushbend exhaust to a magnaflow 3" muffler. No resonators or cats. Suprisingly, the exhaust is really quiet. I have a friend that has a the same setup but his is mandrel bent and I loved the way his sounded. No cats or resontors and still really quiet for a turbo exhaust. If I could do it again, I would get a 3" mandrel bent but at that time, I was short on funds and had a local muffler shop bend it for me.

Nope. I just slapped the two together with oem headgasket and Arp's

Yea, I hear ya. I asked other tuners about the graph and they said the same thing. Prolly get a greddy profec b spec I soon Thanks for the comments and repiles.
