muffler shop maid 3" exhaust?
A local mauffler shop will make 3" exhaust in aluminized steel with one resonator for a REALLY good price. This would not be mandrel bent, just the old crush style. Would it be worth having maid for about 1/4 the price of Thermal? What would be a good muffler to go with this that looks, sounds, and priced good? Would it be better than just running stock exhaust?

Crush bent sucks, go with mandrel bent, even if you have to pay 4x as much for the thermal. There are lots of muffler shops that make mandrel bent exhausts, atleast down here in Miami.

WOuld thermal be over kill for just the DRAG 3 kit? I think I may have decided(for now) just to try to get the money together to get the DRAG 3 and turbo myy stock engine unstead of spending a ton on builing my motor first. The reason I was thinking about the crush exhaust was because I would beable to do it right away and not worry about running my stock exhust for a while.
What do you guys think of just buying the mandrel bends from a place like Sumit or JC Whitney, then I would just tak the peices together how they need to go, the have a muffler shop weld it all up?
What muffler would you guys suggest?
Stu: I did mean made, I guess I should start rereading stuff I post! Sorry.

when it comes down to doing custom exhaust or downpipes miguel jr or miguel sr. at miami muffler are the best choice, do you have an idea how much they charge for a 3' downpipe.

yeah, crush bends suck ***. that would defeat the purpose because you would have 3.00" piping while they are crush bent just like the stock exhaust piping.
as for a muffler, i think the apex n1 universal muffler would be a good one to use with 3.00" piping.
