Default MSD 1000cc injector problem w/ Victor X mani

So I started reviewing some stuff and realized that my injectors are not sitting in the bungs correctly. Take a look....

The base of the injector is hitting the outter part of the mainfold/bung. I am using the OEM rubber gasket that I used with my RC's (that I did not have a problem with).

Has anyone else has this problem with these Bosch type injectors? They are actually MSD injectors made by Bosch I believe....

The X comes in two different types...

1. For Honda style injectors
2. For Bosch style

Contact Edelbrock and see what they say. I do know the Bosch is a larger dia..

The seals are 100% in there.

I was un aware that there are two different types.... can anyone else confirm or deny this?

Yeah now I know what you are talking about.... thanks

Should I stack 1 and a half of these OEM rubber seals? I think Geoff from F-R did something like this....

Bump for some answers....

I'm in the same boat with Siemen 1600cc's, Victor X, and GE fuel rail... Thought about drilling to open the rail up...

The rail is not my problem.... it is the bung in the manifold that needs to be chamfered (sp?) at just the top of the bung.

Where are your manifold to fuel rail spacers?

In that pic I just had the injectors sitting in the bungs. The rail was not tightened down.

I just used some DSM seals. They're larger than the hondas.

Are we talking about the same thing here? The rail to manifold spacers will not help in this situitation. I would need a taller injector to manifold rubber o-ring if anything.

Where did you get them?

I had them left over from my old DSM 450s. You can get them at a mitsu dealer though.

I will give them a shot.

You are using MSD injectors or Bosch type I assume?

Those look the same as Precision injectors.. Are you using new injector seals?

They are not new, but they are the OEM version seals. They are the origional seals that came with the stock GSR manifold.

Do you have a fix for this?

do you have the plastic washers that go between the bushing and manifold? I have presisions and they would sit like what you have in the picture without the washer. with the washer in they fit perfect once the rail is bolted down. you can get the washers from the dealer or probably find some at a hardware store

I do not have the washers.... I have seen them in pics like this (#4 in the pic)

Is this what you think I need? It would seem to make sense that it would work....

I'll go take a look when i go home this weekend, AFAIK i didn't have this issue...

and i used OEM honda Orings on top and bottom w/ the fuel rail spacers.
