Default MrGrims B16B JRSC High BOOST BUILD

This is my build it started along time ago
Ive been asked time n time again to post this build to help others
lost a lot of pics due to a camera card taking a dump.

Before i start Id like to take a moment to say a big thank you to
all those before me who put stuff on the inter cob webs
I think I have read just about every build up discussion on JRSC going around.
BIG BIG thank you to Veris aka FLTRacing for all his assistance in the begining
cant forget all you guys that argue oops I mean chat in the JRSC thread ...Cheers
and last but not least my dear other half MzGrim she can throw a mean tool or 2
** not always at me

but ill strat from the start
this is how she was when i first bought the car 6yrs ago <OMG that long ago

Its a 1999 EK CIVIC
Looks good but its all lies

missmatched paint, tofu glued on body kit, diy cant weld exhaust
and a napalm effect Lebo sweat induced coma when you sit in it IT STUNK
last but not least Im ashamed to say a used knotted thing in the back
"you guts know what i mean chock cough dryreach"

first thing i did was remove the stickers and KILL the smell
stripped the interior out and clean like HELL
Oh and i stuck a hood scoop on i had lying around trying to make it myn on no budget

Then started my 4yr long research into mods i wanted to do....

Default Re: MrGrims B16B JRSC High BOOST BUILD

then the engine bay build started in ernest OCT 2011

here is what it started as before the bay stripdown
D16Y4 manual with fat tube cold air and loud bad exhaust
plus a couple of bling trims to make it look good while waiting for the main event

this was the WICKED D16Y4 POWAH at a dyno day

then after a Loooonnng days work

Hiding like a shy B16B I got it 3 weeks before i stated the strip down
"lost alot of pics this is after strip and split from box"

so from here is where i started with the full tuck shaved bay
I wanted a clean and tidy bay
let the welding grinding cutting begin
Oh how i hate sanding n sanding n sanding

and finaly with the new rad support welded on as the old one was bent up bad
from previous owner hack repairs

at this point i think my fingers where going to bleed from sanding
mmmm sanding dreaming mmmm wake up IDIOT and do the typing
OH OH notice the hood latch tidy up

Now is where lots n lots of pic's are missing due to that memory card dump

anyways....
I started with the Jrsc kit i got
fully ported / polished the supercharger & s-tube
rebuilt the engine with all new gaskets n seals + timming belt kit
but I didnt disturb the rotating assebly as there was ne need to
with only 26,'00 K's on it
flushed and detail washed out the block head and every thing else for a clean start
a small amount of porting and polishing to the head

here is me mocking up the charger after i got the LHT manifold back for the first time from LHT
after that I sent it back as 1st one was not myn an a heap of s#*t also not done to the specs i asked for !
But I got it in the end 2 months later from the 1st order
then I redid the porting / polished it plus port matching the head to manifold
also polished the outside for the blinding bling Hehehe

and the motor after many hours of hard work and lots of custom bits made an polished
just about ready to bolt up to the gearbox
It looks so YOOOO VTEC ....
ok ill calm down now I was so so excited at this point

as you can see above the LHT header and the Ogura 309D clutch

Oh and before I get asked again Yes the Civic has a room mate that wouldnt move over during the build ..The Fat Lazy Black Sl#t "Grim Reaper" 71 FJ40
Here they are Happy before another domestic occurs and i have to spilt them up

on with the show

so then it was time to get this thing cold air and lots of it

the next project was to get the Supercharger water to air cooler in place as its huge
with all the -12an fittings/braid on it
and locate the oil cooler in there some where

find a tight place for the custom resivour

more pic's missing but....
time for a start on the exhaust
rear split all 3"

Wrapped up hearder and down pipe

Added some ICE a while ago ...cant cruise with out tunez
This was my old competition system that was 10Yrs old when installed
and on the day wasnt tuned to do the DB DRAG was just for a giggle

I dont like to follow the crowd so I made my own Badge for the car

these are the results for the first tune
Done buy an IDIOT that will never touch my car again alive !!
MSC Performance did not do the tune it was there dyno Hired out to BYP the IDIOT
Result figures are down due to a small hicup with the ECT playing Havoc with the Vtec
but after a bypass this was the result
that included poor AFR running rich n lean all over the place ect ect

OH OH and lets not forget IDIOT fudged the results with the dyno inputs

for those that read pictures and are impatient
heres a teaser of the final product
Well almost finished

Thanks Spawne

the body filler isnt that much at all just a very thin film
with most of it sanded off before undercoat
and most of the bay is seam stitched weld filled
but i do have two cracks after 40+ tunning pulls on the dyno
but there tiny and to be exspected as the shock tower to firewall flex

love how clean the setup is now that im seeing the pics, shame its on a b16 though, i would have liked to have seen how far you could have brought the torque up with the supercharger lol i only made 140 ft lbs on mine but it was alot higher then i expected for the measly 179hp i made.

The regulator pressure and rail pressure will be the same, there is no pressure after the regulator
