Default Mounting turbine backwards on manifold

Yes i tried searching

I wanted to flip my turbine around where it connects to the manifold. Cuz this would have the turbo inlet facing the drivers side, and on my car (91 Teg) I have a big hole where my windshield resovoir used to be, and was thinking of just adding a short pipe connected to the inlet so it gets cool air. But as i mocked up my design it changes the center of gravity of the turbine, doing it my way points the turbine more foward towards the radiator, should i worry about the extra weight put onto the manifold? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you're worried, just fabricate a little bracket for the manifold to help support the weight.

No clue actually, here is a pic of it though

This is when it was on another car

personally i think youll be find without a support bracket. it has short runners

Cool, i will try it, i just wanna be different out of the bunch, and im sure a lot will be thinking why my filter is on the wrong side of the fender wall

that looks like an og drag manifold that came with the DA integra kits. I had one, and also had it jet-hot coated, but it still cracked even when running the turbo with the compressor facing the passenger side.

another potential problem i see is the wastegate will be dumping onto the turbo & the oilfeed line if you flip the turbo around.

don't get to excited, thats the way drag has there kits.
Mines that way too, but mines a custom set-up

dont think the compressor housing will clear the block if rotated 180, you probably even had your block notched/clearanced for the current position.

it should stick out away from the block more if it's rotated 180 degree's...

I didnt realize that it will dump into the turbine. I will try to look at it again and see.. Btw... is it really a old drag manifold? It looks kinda jes welded together, wasnt DRAG a cast manifold? Anywho, if it doesnt work out as plan its cool, its no big deal anyways

what am I missing here, based in his pic the turbine section will be fine, okay the WG tube will need work, but the compressor section will be even closer to the block, see how the T3 flange on the manifold angles closer towards the timing belt side.
let me know what you think.

I did it a long time ago on my prelude...... but that was for heat reasons with charge pipes getting hot as hell....... it fits nice as long as you're AC is gone etc

the turbo will sit further out towards the radiator because of the tangential turbine housing. it won't come close to hitting the block, but may hit the radiator.

i had that manifold back in 1997. like i said it came with my drag turbo kit. all other drag kits besides the ones for preludes & 90-93 integras came with revhard cast manifolds.

here's an old pic:

and another after i had removed my ac system (you can see the manifold more clearly here):
