89 CRX SI

ok so im wondering if i should cut the horozontal part on teh 88-89 ef civic front bumper, like all the vertical bars are gone, but was thinking about the horozontal as well and cut it so the IC fits more towards the front of car...

its only 5" high core size..sooo

ideas???
