I dont like it at all , its too short legnth widse and to high the whole bottom half is begin blocked by my bumper it sticks out a ahir under the lip too , so i gott watch my driving now .
i tried to think of diff ways of mounintg it , but no luck
i just bolted up to the bumper support

Re: Mounted my ic today . . . kinda depressed (itr206)
I had to cut my front bumper support, that metal bar that goes across the front of the car. I didn't completely cut it off, I just left a bit at the top so that the bar is still connected up. Ended up looking something like this:
And it still wasn't enough.. the evo 5 intercooler is just too damn tall, it still sticks out underneath the bottom of the bumper
Yours doesn't do that, so I'd count yourself lucky. Just cut that metal bar about 2-3 inches so you can move it up higher.. i'm sure it'd look better.

That's look similiar to a Maxrev IC. Mine fit just like yours did at first, hanging down about 1.5" inches below the front lip. I did not want to cut my bumper support either but in the end it was the only choice I had. It came out good and I am happy with it now.

I've got the same IC, and I really don't mine hanging down below my lip. So you suggest that I cut into the bumper support when installing it?
One thing that I saw once was a kind of skid plate thing on a turbo m3 that used to come into my old gas station (sold race gas). He had his front lip re-made out of carbon fiber, but instead of just ending after going back a half inch or so, he had it extended to about 6 inches back, covering the bottom of his IC, and he had them make it thick too, like 3/8" of fiber, and he has it bolted in like 6 places. He says he's been road racing and hit all kinds of debris that would normally have left him with a giant hole, but the carbon fiber lip/skid plate seems to work. Just a thought, it might work. Be damn expensive to make, though.
Looks like when the IC goes on, I'll be cranking up those coilovers I haven't adjusted in over a year

Re: Mounted my ic today . . . kinda depressed (justinCO)
i think it looks fine other than that it hangs a lil too low.
this should be a concern in case you bottom out, you dont wanna trash a nice expensive ic cause you hit a bump, they do bend easy.
i ran into this same problem installing this ic on my friends teg, i did what justin did but my friend kept bithing about the safety issue (*****! j/k )
so i cut a piece off an old mountain bike frame he had in the garage and drilled some holes in it to use some bolts and lock nuts so that it could be held in place firmly (look at the 4 big holes on top in justins pic)
a hollow tube is very strong and w/ this in place it prolly made the bumper support stronger than stock.

actually mine is 28.5x8.5x3
but yea im worried about bottoming out . i have the coilovers above stock right now so its high, but when it gets warm i usually slam the hell outta it .

Damn, that thing is 28 inches wide? Mine is 20x7x3.5 and I was going to say it looks just like yours and I actually like the way it fit.

I have the exact same intercooler Justin has. My name is Justin too. except I have a 94-97 bumper - do those bumpers hang lower than the 98+'s? I dont want to cut anything I don't have to.
