Which Motor Setup with Turbo should I go with and why
I'm new to the FI world and will be considering one of the following options. I will be receiving funds soon from my tax return and no matter what, i'm going turbo. Just can't decide on what motor setup to go. I currently have a 97 DX stock hatch and want a fun ride to cruise around. I don't really care on time slips as my homies do but I just want to boost and get out of the All Motor world that my friends are in. I have a secondary car for now and a buddy will build me a custom turbo. Lemme here what u guys have to say.

Re: (dc2_and_ef)
I said d16 'cause it's the cheapest and easy to find parts for...
Plus, with the right set up you can make good power with the SOHC.
I'm working on a d16z6 turbo for my wifes EH2 to be installed this summer!! I can't wait!!

I agree d16 all the way if this is your first turbo experience. Good chance you might blow something up and d-series parts are much cheaper than b-series parts. If you want more power later do a swap and you will already have all the turbo goodies.

Re: (b20vtec17)
It also depends on what you are trying to do. If you just want something fun to drive that is moderately fast, stick with what you have. If you want to build an all out drag machine swap it out in favor of a b.

how much are you getting back?
what are your goals?
cheaper but still with nice hp and torque, B18b
if you got money, b18c1.
you'd probably be best getting the b18b, and if you want down the road, the money saved from buying a b18b compared to a c1 you could throw in some nice
forged internals
you could pick up the older gen b16s for cheap as well but they just are crap when it comes to torque.

i'm getting back a good amount of change but not good enough to get all the turbo parts or swap. But I should have enough for most or all this coming 1-2 months because of chinese new years and all that stuff.
