Which Motor Mounts for turbo??
Well, I've heard when getting motor mount inserts you only need one set of either the Energy Suspension set including: Front Lower Left Torque Mount, Front Lower Right (tranny) Torque Mount, Rear Firewall Mount.
http://delsoltuning.com/images/Energ.../ES161105G.JPG Or the Prothane ones that include: Upper Left Mount and Upper Right Mount http://delsoltuning.com/images/Energ...vic-delSol.jpg Which ones do I need, or do you guys recommend replacing the OEM mounts all together for something else? I really don't want anything too harsh, since this is a daily driver, but I don't mind a little vibration. Inputs??? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif |

Re: Which Motor Mounts for turbo?? (nebulight)
I like my solid mounts. They are cheap to make and the motor does not move at all.

Re: Which Motor Mounts for turbo?? (nebulight)
I have the energy suspension set installed on my em1 and they are ok.I cant complain but they are nothing to brag about. They worked ok with my drag kit but with my built motor and newetup i am gonna go hasport https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Which Motor Mounts for turbo?? (siblues)
Well, this is for a street car, so I'm assuming they will be okay? But do I really need both sets?

Re: Which Motor Mounts for turbo?? (nebulight)
I bought an NRG engine torque damper and it eliminated 90% of my wheel hop. My car used to hop the shit out of itself until I installed the torque damper. Now it's pretty hard to make it hop at all. I feel no extra interior vibrations compared to before. $55 well spent.

I would think that for a street car just the motor mounts would be ok.When i had them the car rattled like crazy?

thats what i did...you notice every rattle and squeak at idle now...but wheel hop is non-existant |
the prothane inserts are plenty stiff for me, almost too much actually. I have both top mount inserts and the rear. For the top driver side I used the race insert.

Re: (RTW DC2R)
i have all prothane inserts mounts with window weld. no wheel hop or squeaking

Re: (qfast817)

Re: Which Motor Mounts for turbo?? (nebulight)
Bump because I ordered both, but they sent me the wrong Energy Suspension kit, they sent me trailer arm bushings.... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif But I did get the correct Prothane ones.
Will I be okay with just the prothane inserts? Because I heard that you really only need one of the two posted above, I just don't which one I need. |
i run the tq mount inserts and a rear mount insert, rest of my mounts are 100% OEM.
Im gonna get a tq damper tho- i got one but it didint fit the swap it was for the stock sohc :-/ |
