motor break in is my base map gona be ok?
alright guys so i am getting ready to break my new motor and im gona do it n/a for the first 1500 miles. i have my power fc outa my gsr and it was tuned. it had a skunk2 intake, type r throttle body and a generic header on it. will it be a safe base map for my new build to put the first 1500 baby miles on it or do i need to go get the thing tuned again for my new build?
new build:
ls sleeved bottom end 83 mil
9.1 comp ratio
port and polished gsr head
gsr cams
edelbrock victor x intake mani and 70 mil throttle body
generic header for break in and stock injectors for breakin
will the old n/a base map in the power fc be ok or do i need to go get it tuned again? kinda hoping that i can use it so i can save the money for an extra hour of tuning when the gt35r and rc 750's go in. assuming its gona take a while to tune it when it all goes on cause i want to gear base my boost with my avc-r. any feed back would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

on a fresh build. i think its the best idea to tow it straight to the tuner. i guess you could fire it up to check for leaks and whatnot but i wouldnt drive it for any amount of time.
put it on the dyno and tune. no break-in needed.

thats how I plan to break my motor in, then drive it to the tuner not in boost, watching my a/f.

agreed, thats how I did mine and it's still running great....
In a perfect world, you would want to take it to the tuner, but its not something that will make or break the build imo
