Mini Me is a D15 SOHC non-vtec block with a D16 vtec head. I dont think it would be good for boost considering this combo gives you a crazy high compression ratio...somewhere in the neighborhood in the mid to upper 11's.

i drive a 94 civi hb...so should i go and do the head swap and turbo it or just forget it and turbo it?..how much more power would i make if i did do the head swap and turbo it rather than just adding turbo?....thanks for the replys

Re: mini me swap + turbo (94hondahybrid)
Please dont be so cheap, neither of those combos will be very fast, youll be lucky to see 13's. I hate to sound like an ******* but I am. You obviously want to go fast if your buying turbo and considering head swap. My advice is to get at least a b series swap. the b16's and the b18a/b motors arent that expensive and will probably give you faster times. Besides a turbo on top of that will net much more power.

Re: mini me swap + turbo (tonydatyga)
I know I could do an engine swap to a b series engine but just the thought of having a really fast sohc seems more exciting and more challenging then going the routine route and doing the swap and turbo. Yes, if I was looking for some crazy numbers thats what i would do but i like having the challenge thats whats the whole point to modding our cars isnt it? and as for the name of the head swap, haha I dont know who came up with it but I guess thats what its known as....thanks

Re: mini me swap + turbo (Vp Special K)
my friend did this swap in his crx (mini me) it was a total waste of money and time. there was no power gain that we could really feel. then he got his LS motor in last month and raced a S2000 yep the crx won. it was a good race!

Re: mini me swap + turbo (94hondahybrid)
Oh please, guys in coupes with an SOHC and Greddy turbos are turning out 13's all day long.
My mini-me is a D16y7 with ported D16y8 head and custom T3/4. I dunno though, it might be hard to hit 13's........

i have a perfectly good engine so id rather just try it and if it ends up blowing then ill do a swap if not then great ...im just curious if the head swap would make any more power than not doing the head swap
