Default Milky white substance under valve cover

Pulled valve cover off to re-adjust timing and found a milky-white-oilly substance on the two plates that cover and bolt to the caps that hold the cams in..... should I be concerned? My first thought was headgaskett issue/water getting into the head some how...... Setup is a built GSR with b16a head. Valve cover is vented via catch can setup, two ports on the back of the valve cover. Now the temperature in the area has been fluxuating quite a bit and I thought maybe this was condensation? Any help or input is greatly appriciated.

Note, this is an older pic, valve cover was not vented yet, but you get the idea where they were going to be mounted.

If it is not a prolific amount of water + oil, it could very well be condensation from the vent lines.

You can attempt to mitigate this from happening again by placing check valves in-line with the vent lines.

block is stock sleeves, and yeah its only about 5-10 ml tops, just on the surface of the cam cap rails. Worst case scenerio? cracked sleeve? Thanks for the input guys, compression testing it now/leak down, then going to tune if everything looks ok. I have a spare block that I was going to have sleeved.

that could be condensation..put plastic bags arounds the tips....and change ur oil..if u have a cracked sleeved i dont think the engine would run....mines died when the sleeved cracked and never ran again...no compression...get a good tune keep it safe and dont cheap out on the gas u use...i found out the hard way..i cracked a sleeved before a pistons which means stock pistons can take way more abuse than we credit them..

Could it be a sunk sleeve?

Ok guys, looks like it was condensation... (I told dan it was.. haha) and we tuned last night via BrandanRS on here (i think thats his user name) Great tune, car is a handful to drive even with the LSD. tuned on wastegate pressure 8psi, prob close to 300 or a bit under. Would highly reccomend Brandan to anyone looking for a great affordable tune. My car has been an absolute BITCH to get together with the electrical gremlins I had for the better part of 6-8 months, but finally making progress. With some more boost and a good set of radials/slicks she will easilly break into the 11's im hoping.

Back to the tech though. Before tuning we did compression test 240 on all cyl. and also a leakdown test which revealed no issues, so either the head has other issues (crack maybe?) or it was simple condensation from the catchcan setup. Either way she runs great so imma let her eat for now and see what happens.
