Midwest Autoworks New Poject Car. 1998 Integra GSR. Looking to hit 10s.
Start of Midwest Autoworks new project car.
1998 Acura Integra GSR
Looking to hit 10s in the quarter mile for under 12000 dollars including the price of the car. I know most of you are going to say. PFFFFTTTTTT. Yeah right dude, but I am going to try and do it.
First off I paid 1800 for the full car.
Then I sold the full interior for 200 dollars and sold the taillights for 70.00
So
1800 - 270= 1530.
+18.00 for grinding pads and discs.
+ 490 for a p28 with hodata s300
+250 for precision 750 IC
-500 for the Head I sold off of it
-300 for an extra b16 head i had laying around
-120 for the engine harness
-20 for the p72
-80 for the gauge cluster
+ 525 for Drag Coilovers
+450 for RTErnie topmount full race replica turbo header
+80 for aluminum civic sized radiator
+40 for extended studs
First thing we did was pull the interior out and sell it to Poormans Type R on here.
Also took the 98 Tails out and switched them with the 94 style. 98s also sold to Poormans.
Next I took out all of the sound deading with my air hammer and weighed it.
Was only about 30 lbs.
A little change from MWAs last project car

But that car was sold to CFT as I had too much time and money into it and needed way more to finish it.

It was an insurance claim, that is why it was so cheap, it is spotless though, no rust dents or dings

Re: (CTR_B)
Plenty of guys going 10's for waaay less than that. I would say if you can't there is a problem unless you are doing some big baller build with a whole lot of unnecessary ****. I think you could go 10's for $12k with an $8k base car.

Dry ice with patience takes it right off to where it would appear that there wasn't any deadening applied by the factory.

And cost money, this is a budget build.

Couple questions.
Where can i buy lexan windows for the TEG
Are the S&W cages any good?
Should i get a sump set up for the fuel system or should i go with a fuel cell?

Definitely not lexan windows if you are on a budget, and i know several people that are well into the 10's with a simple Walbro 255 intank. Keep it simple.
