Default MHI standard rotation turbine wheel with right hand threads?!?

So I tore down my MHI/Banks TE06H turbo last night and discovered that it uses a "normal" right hand thread shaft nut... Typically standard rotation turbochargers use a left hand thread shaft nut so this is a first for me. The nut itself is just a standard hex nut but is a copper material. So not even the usual 12 point nut. This turbo just keeps on making less sense the more I get into it.

Likely it was done by MHI at the request of Banks to make the turbo serviceable only by Banks, who actually copyrighted this particular turbocharger parts combination.

Anyone ever encountered a similar situation?
