MF2 With MSD6A Ignition? Will it fry the MF2?
Hello,
I recently installed my MF2 controller and I already have a MSD6A Ignition. For those who know the MSD systems, they all amplify the ignition system by intercepting the stock ignition coil wires.
I've read on here that the MF2 cannot be used with the MSDBTM because where it hooks up on the ignition coil, something about the negative side, somehow it will fry the unit. And since the BTM and 6A ignitions are quite similar, except the 6A doesn't have timing control, I'm wondering if it would cause the same problems.
Since I installed the MF2, it just sprays fuel at idle. Both injectors are getting pulses as monitored by the air/fuel ratio gauge and the excess fuel pouring into the system at idle, as well as an LED hooked up to the injector harnesses.
Please let me know if you can help me out,
Thank you,
Taylor

you can use the mf2 with ignition amps but you have to find another rpm signal if i rememer correctly. you tried calling fmax?

The MF2 and the MSD have nothing to do with each other. Use the external tach output on the MSD (the spade terminal on the side of the MSD box) for the tach input signal on the MF2. Just don't use the modified MSD signal that drives the coil. It sounds like you have a boost reference problem on the MF2. Make sure you have the 3bar map wired correctly. Good luck.
