Default Metallic specks on piston.. detonation?

When I'm doing my valve alignment, I looked at the top of the piston when they're at TDC, and I can see little blemishes on the tops. Looks like someone took something pointed, and hammered all over the top.

Is this a sign of detonation?

Also, the top of my pistons are incredibly clean.. nice and shiny. Does this mean
I have coolant leaking into my cylinders? I've been trying to find out why
I lose coolant slowly.

when my motor blew,)ring lands went) the tops of the pistons were like you are saying yours are. now mine are just cleaner in some spots than others. what psi are you running and what are your mods?
